  1. My flip-line of choice, big enough diameter for my hands to grasp. Someone else found them in stock somewhere or other when I raised the subject. I’ll see if I can find the post.
  2. Ha ha. It goes like this.. Me: Have you got a thingumy for my chipper? it’s out of action. Dealer: Yep, one sitting on the shelf in front of me, £200 and I’ll send it this afternoon. Me: £200! It’s only a piece of plastic, I’m sure I could pick one up for buttons elsewhere. 30 seconds of silence… Me: Ok, I’ll pay with a Mastercard, big number is…
  3. Cos the pigeon took a shit whilst sitting in one tree but not the other.
  4. Put in an adjustable restrictor valve on the rotator grab to slow down spin and snappy grab. Lovely to use now, no longer like a fairground test of reactions. IMG_2151.MOV
  5. Looks like they’re in a zoo or something. Some mothers are really smart about where they raise them, others really stupid. My guess is this is a smart one.
  6. No need to think we’re arguing, just discussing. I can assess someone’s ability within a morning’s watching and working with them. A bullshit merchant will be found out in minutes. No one has wasted anyone’s time.
  7. The problem (if there is one) is employers sending guys out to do work they are not yet capable of, because of pressure of work. I remember getting sent out to reduce large trees over traffic and properties straight out of a ten weeker. You didn’t want to say it was too much for you so you cracked on ending in damage because you didn’t know how to do it.
  8. That seems unfair. If someone wants to invest in their own future and fund a training course in order to get a skill why shouldn’t they? If they give up in a year who loses? Only them and their time/money. You cannot get any sort of work without tickets and now you’re saying you cannot get tickets without work! I was 31 when I did my 10 weeker, do you think I had the time or inclination to do an apprenticeship?
  9. After having a photo competition where you perused hundreds of tree climbing photos?
  10. Agreed, bigger than they looked.
  11. I got used to just using them till they went off, then putting new cheap Chinese ones on I got from the Rayco supplier in Dorset. Not as easy now with Brexit and parcels and all that.
  12. Green wheels are OK, I just hate the toxic mess everywhere. I was Chez Cropper recently and he showed me a grinding wheel that’s a lot better and less messy.
  13. Is that the secret? I find them useless, hardly affect the teeth at all, gave up on them.
  14. No, some might, but if I saw someone doing it I’d consider them a bit ‘affected’
  15. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cdq11w6ISq7/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= My nephew is over for a week, so a bit of a rest from climbing for me and I get to run the ropes for a few days. Luxury! IMG_2146.MOV
  16. Wow, he’s a real tough guy. Heal quick!
  17. 300 sounds a good price, especially if it’s grind and leave.
  18. Look like they’re trying to find a gap in the fence.
