  1. I can’t see any way they won’t eat the newly hatched cygnets at the very least.
  2. How so? Not looking for an argument, honest. Just curious.
  3. It’s a different world, complex costings, calculations including late payments, fuel, loan payments on machinery. I see people doing these sort of jobs and I feel a twinge of envy. But I don’t have the drive or energy to even think about throwing my hat in the ring. A man’s gotta know his limitations.
  4. 30 degrees, out pricing this afternoon. MacFlurry. Vanilla with raspberry sauce and marshmallow bits.
  5. What did you think of the attachement? Compared to a dedicated grinder?
  6. Did that take long? They seem painfully slow from what I’ve seen.
  7. Young pine marten I happened across walking the dog today. I heard a hissing and snarling about 20 meters off the track at the base of a tree. Two young cubs clumsily made their escape up the tree, this one sort of snookered itself and stopped to watch me from 20 ft up. iPhone shot so poor quality.
  8. It’s a willow, probably a twisted willow. You can cut it back very hard and it should come back, I have one that I muller every year, sometimes twice. You can cut the root out as well. If in the long term you don’t think you’ll keep the tree, might as well take it out completely.
  9. Same all over it seems. Best hang back with the pitchforks for a bit.
  10. How much is a litre of diesel in the UK?
  11. Ray Liotta aged 67. My favourite film Goodfellas, and he was great in it. I can’t do links on here, but if someone would be kind enough to post the funny guy/restaurant scene I’d be grateful. ’whaddya mean I’m funny?’
  12. Fingers crossed for them 🤞
  13. No real experience to offer of the pricing, but I saw an multiple ADB roadside removal job being done on FB near my old village and they were using big 360s with grabs, pto chippers with silage trailers for the chip, in other words big boys with big toys. You can’t compete with these firms without serious investment.
  14. Moorhen in French is Poule d’eau, literally water chicken which sums them up really. Always had a soft spot for these daft buggers, adaptable survivors who eke out a living in the most difficult of circumstances, preyed on by just about everything, and bottom of the ladder to ducks, coots and everything else that calls the waterways their home. My Jack Russell ‘Pirate’ was obsessed by them and the way they sought refuge under the banks of ponds. Dont think he ever caught one.
  15. Look like a pair of Osprey to me.
  16. What’s it to you you nosy bastard!?
  17. You have to use the choke on a restart after a few minutes, even if it’s ‘hot’ My experience anyway. Never had a problem with starting or restarting.
  18. My flip-line of choice, big enough diameter for my hands to grasp. Someone else found them in stock somewhere or other when I raised the subject. I’ll see if I can find the post.
  19. Ha ha. It goes like this.. Me: Have you got a thingumy for my chipper? it’s out of action. Dealer: Yep, one sitting on the shelf in front of me, £200 and I’ll send it this afternoon. Me: £200! It’s only a piece of plastic, I’m sure I could pick one up for buttons elsewhere. 30 seconds of silence… Me: Ok, I’ll pay with a Mastercard, big number is…
