    Ahh sorry Marty, I should have read a little better as opposed to scanning over it. You may well be right but from looking at some of the products coming out on these DRT companies it looks like a few of them my be admitting defeat and looking in to SRT.     I sit on the saw power unit with my left foot against the left side of the bar and a log or my tool box (something heavy) against the tip of the right. Seems to work for me. Can't do it on my lap because I can't cross my legs (not to flexible anymore). Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

    It never went ahead in the end. The neighbour was too concerned about his lawn and the guy I working for had to put more on the job when he realised how careful we had to be and the customers didn't like that I guess.     I don't often get pictures as I'm to wrapped up in what I'm doing but asked the grounds to grab my phone at get a couple of pics earlier as I'd only had the one job on today and it wasn't a rush. Unfortunately only got a couple of photos of one leggy limb being taken back then forgot to ask him to take more. 2 medium sized Ash trees taken down. Done and dusted by 1, very happy customer.     I can't be the only one who misread that title haha. Do they cost anymore? If not give them a go. But personally I don't know if it would retain the heat that much better. Different colours don't actually retain heat, they retain other forms of energy. Pleased the thread wasn't about you hitting you knackers :-) Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

    It depends what part of the country you are in but if other ash trees are budding in your area I'd say it's likely yours should be as well. They are definitely ash trees and I still think ash dieback is a strong contender for what is causing this. With regards to how you should deal with them. I'd cut them down and sell as firewood as for treatment the disease is spread by airborne spores so they is no real way of stopping it spreading (as of yet). Now I know they put a stop to movement of timber to stop the disease spreading but I think they have changed their minds on this now. So if you are selling as firewood you may want to check that but I'm sure someone with a bit more knowledge than myself will be along shortly to let you know for sure. Hope this helps :-).     Funnily enough I recently quoted a job that I won due to the other guy tuning up in a flash new car. Customer said even though I was a few quid more expensive (£20on a £500 job) she convinced her husband to go with me because 'I wasn't a flash git in a stupid toy car'. Made me laugh.     That's what I thought. I've never been asked to replant before removal. Weather or not the replanting the same day was due to time of year and they wanted it done and not left to long.
