  1. Never had a problem using oregon or stihl chains at lower revs.
  2. Still can't make my mind up on these chains. I run 3/8 on my 550xp. I tried the smaller chains when they were piranha on my 021 and found them very grabby and vibrated a lot. I ended up binning them. I find the 3/8 almost too aggressive as if I had already filed the rakers down. They are ok for logging, but hard to control at lower revs if you want to tickle a hinge or the like.
  3. I think vhm might be the German equivalent, might be wrong though.
  4. Edessö / Koll HM Circular Saw Blades 700 x 4,2 x 30 mm, For 42 LWZ | eBay
  5. Chains arrived now, thanks Nicola:thumbup1:
  6. These folks might have something EPS Services - Online Store

  8. Ordered a pair last Thursday, not turned up yet, hoping to get them before the week is out.
  9. Think I used to know you through kleenkutt a few years back.
  10. You in the Taunton area R5log? Recognise that as a number plate.
  11. Few months on, anyone bought one or any in the west country?
  12. Ah,ok. Thanks' for the reply. Doesn't sound suitable for my needs.
  13. I know nothing about lucas slabbers or the chain they run, so this is probably a dumb question. Can this chain be used on a chainsaw mill?
  14. Probably been done before, but is proper granberg ripping chain streets ahead of re-profiled standard chain. I have filed my oregon chain to 10 degrees and find it gives a pretty good finish with low vibration. With crimbo just around the corner, I could request some from santa if it's worth it.
  15. I have an electric planer and also 9" and 41/2" grinders, so I may try those first. I have just milled a lump of elm and made some 3" thick boards that are about 22" wide. I'm thinking coffee table tops. The finish off of the chainsaw is pretty good as the wood had been standing dead for years.
  16. When you guys are sanding wide milled boards for benches and coffee table tops etc, what type of sanders are best, belt , orbital or discs on angle grinders?
  17. That looks like a cracking job mate, when can you come around and rewire my house?
  18. Have had 4 fronteras', 2.0l, 2.4l petrols, 2.8tdi and now a 2.2dti. The 2.2dti is a reliable engine with only the fuel pump to watch out for. There is nothing wrong with the pump, but it relies on fuel for lubrication. You will kill it if you dry crank it after running out of fuel for example. I get mid 30mpg. 4wd is activated by vacuum, split hoses can cause the odd issue, but nothing that can't be sorted easily and cheaply. The whole frontera range gets over looked (rightly or wrongly?) and that keeps the prices low.

About the same money as the 7900 then! I know what saw my money would go on. Oh, it did:laugh1:
  20. Anyone know anything about this? Firewood / wood processor with infeed deck . | eBay This must be the third time I have seen it listed since last year, using the same pictures every time.
  21. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/firewood-forum/102875-christmas-trees-wholesale.html This one?
  22. I made one up the same as the timber croc, fancied a little welding project. Used it for awhile and they work fine. Went back to using my Portek saw horse as it holds the chainsaw and is easier to get the logs to drop into a barrow.
  23. Are these just rebadged piranha chains? If so, I wasn't overly impressed with the chains on smaller saws. Don't know what the 3/8 ones would be like.
  24. Either the dust extraction on the machine is pants or my stihl workshop vac isn't up to the job. Looks like i'm going to have to buy a proper little dust vac with a 4" pipe on it. Anyone made compressed logs with all the shavings?
