  3. The 360 is a nice one, if you think the 280 is too small, have a word with Lee at garden machinery in kent, that's where I got mine from
  4. Have a look at the small echos, brilliant little saws,
  5. I will let you know how it goes on Thursday, they say it takes about an hour, but I don't if you get the result that day. I was talking to one of the chaps down the man shed the other day (who also has it) and he was saying one of his brother in law had an operation that sorted it out. Today just talking to a chap who comes here deer stalking and he has it in one ear, he has not had a scan, but the specialist told him that there are two pieces in the ear which are touching, causing vibration or hiss, and that an operation may solve the problem but could also make it worse, so he has just left it.
  6. Tinitis, don't you just love it, not. Had an ear test at the hospital a couple of weeks ago and its the high frequency I am having problems hearing, so now have an appointment on Thursday for an MRI scan, could just be damaged nerve endings or hereditry she says. So we will see.
  7. If you are going to get a pyrogragh thingy do not buy one of them cheap £30 things that look like a soldering iron, I invested in a peter childs one in the end far more superior.
  8. Hi jon, can you clear your inbox please mate
  9. Always careful jon, normally limit myself to 2 jerrycans. Its a 36 mile round trip to get fuel here. Thanks for your concern mate:thumbup1:
  10. Like you say, I think it is up to the individual garage. One I use regularish only allows 2 jerrycans and if the old lady is on duty insists you take them out the back of the truck to fill, I asked the younger woman why she allows me to fill cans in back of truck, says she cant be bothered. Another garage in a different town allows as many cans as you want as long as they are legal cans.
  11. Cant find ticket of what weight it came in at, all wood was sub 300 as regular driver knows it is for processor. As for M3 it came in lower than expected. If its going to sit around for a while as ours does, get the driver to put it on runners.
  12. Jerry Lee Lewis, Great Balls of Fire I think they are on the back burner now:lol:
  13. When we were looking to buy wood in , the forestry consultant brought the lorry driver up to show him the dog leg bend and agreed on a lorry and drag, sorted.
  14. Yes jon, I have a mate down in north devon, and he swears by them for all his stuff very competitive on prices
  15. In my time I have worked on a few stud farms and the last one in north Essex, during the summer they blitz the whole farm going on mass armed with ragwort forks, feed sacks and digging it up and burning it. On an estate in herts, one farmer would be out religiously pulling/digging ragwort and on a few occasions would photograph ragwort on other tenant farmers ground and take said photos to the estate factor complaining.
  16. We feed all year round, peanuts, sunflower hearts, fatballs, it is not the cost I have a problem with but the delivery time from point of order, most times upto two weeks. There is a broad price range.
  17. I will email stickstalker, not seen him on here for a while, he may be interested
  18. I was told the tang on a roughing gouge is not as long or as strong as the one on a bowl gouge. So stick to a bowl gouge on bowls and keep it really sharp. That is the advice given to me by my instructor at turning class
  19. No you are not misguided. There is BIG money to be made in hunting. Not just americans do it either.
  20. Well if I was still living in north Essex I could have popped round to see Carenza Lewis and asked her, but that would have meant breaking the restraining order:001_smile:
  21. Whats wrong with them as a first attempt then? hey! The missus has banned me from putting anymore owls and shrooms in the garden, so I am trying for a squirrel
  22. Jon, if you google wire haired dachshund it will give you an idea what they are like, they are the same size as ordinary dachs Got to go and me dinner now
