  1. Certainly looks a good mill. My mate brought his Granberg small log mill over the other weekend for me to try. Fitted my 480cd on it and cut some oak and softwood with it, found with the weight of the saw the tip end would lift, so you would have to keep pressure on that end. But really enjoyed milling. Bought a 22" ripping chain from rob and cut another batch of oak last week. Like the ad says, perhaps the more substantial frame will stop the dipping. Now I have a heap of milled oak to find something to do with. Having seen the logster, I would probably go with that if I was to get one.
  2. Where in Essex are you? I did mine when I lived near saffron walden, Robert Patmore sorted mine out, am trying to rack my brain where it was, it was held at a chemical/seed research place nearby, Sagenta or something. Here you go Saffron Walden Agricultural Training Group [email protected] mobile 07774145254 He used to live in Langley Upper Green, he did have a facebook page really helpful guy
  3. Did mine about 5 years ago, nothing to worry about, theory one day and practical second with assessment, they are there to help and guide you, if I can pass then anyone can.
  4. I have always thought it a fix, especially when they say in their ad, guaranteed 5 new millionaires this week.
  5. I am hearing of people actually having biomass being taken out, our farrier for one. He had a pellet one installed, being quoted a price per bag and tonne rate, but could not get the tonne rate unless he collected it, worked out it was cheaper to stay with oil. The company had to reinstall a new oil boiler for him and make good all pipe work.
  6. If you cant find it here, have a look on his webpage under essential info
  7. Read the whole thread, until I looked at the date, like to think 10 months on he has grasped it:001_smile:
  8. Not just on a cold day........or holding yourself for too long, trying to finish a job first, then fumbling like hell to get it out intime. Interesting thread to read, having not worked in your industry, but were you not the same when you came out of college or training, well that's how we got shown blah, blah. And do you have a.......Do as I say, not as I do attitude to other workers? Just interested I was a nightmare when I was in gamekeeping, liked things done my way, that was the only way, show you once that's it.
  9. Looks like it is based on the palax one we have.
  10. Hi mike, can I have 10 each of the deer and thistle please mike, the missus really liked the others I had for the tree last year.
  11. Took my duster in for its 2nd service at ACs in Dumfries and got told it had 4 buckled wheels (steel) and needed 4 tyres (22,000 miles). Took it to the local tyre place, wheels not buckled and did not need tyres. Wanted the stereo changed under warranty as it would not accept CDs, apparently not covered by warranty and new stereo would be £560. Bought one off ebay £70 fitted it myself 10 mins. Our young stockman took his Vauxhall into another branch of AC for a service, phone call saying 2 springs were broke, but I only bought it off you 6 mths ago, got told it must be the way he drives it. His dad rung them up and then went into see them with some very choice words, apparently they now reckon they sold it to him like it.
  12. What about decking, or Stables/livery yards, then you get to look the added bonus of ladies in jodphers:thumbup1:
  13. This piece has some staining, which is why I think it looks nice. When it comes to taking off the spigot, should I attempt to put it the cole jaws or try and just chisel it off? Not had a problem so far with splitting of any of the holly I have, as I dipped it in hot wax, unlike the laburnum so I gave that to a mate at the weekend for pen turning.
  14. Nowt to be frightened of the dark. You won't want to be walking through the castle grounds in the middle of winter here then or staying for the night in it:001_smile: And until something touches me on the shoulder it won't faze me.
  15. I would have thought so, bung some on ebay and see what happens. I was even thinking of finding a nice piece for crookmaking handle.
  16. Good o yer mate, if you're like me have watched far too many slasher movies. Got the whole set of Wrong Turn ones:thumbup1:
  17. I was surprised how well it turns, the outside is done, have just started turning the inside which seems to be a bit greener deep in the centre, don't seem to be any harder otherwise. Got a mate who is always on the scrounge for holly off me. The scraper does a good job. A chap down the man shed turns a complete bowl with a scraper.
  18. Just an observation, could you get plastic caps to fit into the box sections to stop shite getting in them
  19. Is the shoe whats left of the scumbag
  20. Nice selection of bowls there, wish mine turned out like that, the missus says of mine, not another bloody cereal bowl. I have the idea in my head but it never comes out that way. Got a natural edge bowl on the lathe at the moment in holly.
  21. For an extra £250 you could have had mud guards and a dolly wheel:lol: Seriously though looks a well built bit of kit, what is the centre of gravity like, but then again you don't have hills down there.
  22. Sorry to hear about it VI, told the missus over dinner, she says, how gullable, imagine how much a blonde with big boobs would get.......she's on her way down now:lol::lol: Seriously though, gutted for you, if like me £250 a bloody lot to lose, really hate con artists scum
