    morning all how is the head and bj's ?? i would use what i have lying around in workshop usually a box of 4 inch and a box of 2 1/2 nails if galvanised will never pull out.enjoy your day folks im off to cut some logs as need some peace after scotland loosing again at the rugby (married to an english wife!!!!)jake:thumbup:

    I would pay the lad full rate but let him go at the end of the job.he has had outlays in travel and b&b so needs to cover that.next time go for can older bloke who can graft.the youth of today can't graft but drive you nuts with mobile phones etc.

    Its when they point to a part burnt bonfire pile containing many things apart from wood that my answer becomes a big no way!!! If they help drag the brash and then keep out the way then yes .had one client who had a pile of old fencing full of nails and wire who took the hump when I said never!!

    <p>Log clamp works well .but with bent timber it can jam blade soncut at bends with saw and make sure log lies flat on belt .blade will do 300 tons easily on clean timber .I have used one set on belts and one blade in 250 tons blade hit lump of 40 mm rock in tree!!!.ake</p>

    <p>I went from a farming wp 36 to the 360 magic machine but not cheap 28 k for machine and log deck.it is only really good if you want to process in yard and have mechanical muscle to load deck and logs I use timber trailer and crane to load and manitou to catch logs and stack in shed.one man and in an ideal world you will never touch a log again!!!.the only drawback is that it is too wide to transport on road on tractor for on site splitting .Jake</p>

    A couple of well placed claymores will sort it out and if placed near unsplit wood will give you plenty of kindling!!!!!

    When I worked for Kidd farm machinery we balanced everything mower drums flywheels dung spreader rotors in fact anything that rotated at speed.I think they are run by the management now after tarrup and kevernland owned them may be worth a try.

    800 nearly buys an artic load of timber in nice 3m lenghts and will fly through processor turn it into logs without lifting a log ....mm im tempted in spending 2 days in truck and another doing the job ...NOT:thumbup:

    I have just changed from fc to sc because my eyes are getting old and thought sharpening would be easier in the field ...conclusion is yes a bit but you never know when it is sharp. With fc when you can shave the skin off your fingers you are about right!!!!
