    Likewise Rob . It was good to meet you and we enjoyed working with you. Regarding the Cedar, Justin pulled out all the stops to get the customer to change his mind and not remove it completely. So a good result all round I think. Thanks mate

    A big thank you to Rob "Riggerbear" for his help with on a couple of jobs this week. First was a large Cedar reduction. The Tree had a large split down the centre of the stem and the previous bracing had seen better days so we used a ratchet strap to stabilise it. The second job was a dead beech dismantle. Nice one mate, look forward to the next time.

    You could try phoning Stobart's and see if they are buying chip/biomass from anyone in the area. Also Biffa do a lot of in vessel composting around the UK. Do they have a site near you? Also people with allotments are always looking for chip but like you say they fill up pretty quickly.

    Hi Jon I went to the last 2 Stonehenge free festivals before they stopped it. Was much better than Glastonbury. Them were the days....

    Always looks good when people turn up for tree work covered in cement....

    We more than likely post more flyers than anyone else on here and this has never happened to us.... Mind you, one look at our groundies and it's not surprising...... even though you couldn't meet a nicer bunch of guys.

    Great video Adam, how long did it take you to transition from ddrt to static rope? I went to the AA SRT workshop last month , the guy doing the demo shot up the tree rapid style, but he said once he got to his anchor he reverted back to doubled rope. I haven't been climbing that long and to be honest I was a bit put off by the seemingly complicated knots and slings in some the of the base anchor systems on demo. It was impressive how you flew round the canopy using redirects. How much time/effort do you think you saved compared to working the same tree/job on a ddrt system. Thanks Timon

    I'll buy them food, I don't like to give cash only for it to go into the pocket of the nearest smack dealer. I'll also try and give them a flyer for Betel and tell them from personal experience it is possible to change their lives. Sadly most are only interested in the next hit/drink, but every once in a while someone will take the opportunity.

    Tow hitch, couple of groundies or a metal spike hammered into the ground at a slight angle. I definitely wouldn't risk tying to a concrete post, they're very prone to snapping. There is a way of doubling the rope back on itself and securing/tensioning it with a prussic so that when the piece reaches it, the contact with the prussic gently collapses the system and the load lands safely in a pre-determined spot rather than crashing into the vehicle/chipper/groundie etc..

    Thanks Craig. Will look into that. The plan is to eventually mount the chipper on the front on a plate. Once we get a hiab trailer we will make the change. The costs are prohibitive at the present time but we will get there as the business continues to grow. Timon

    Not sure Dave , our mechanic sourced them, he knows a lot about ag stuff. It won't hurt to ask the question though. The last ones looked really sturdy but weren't when it came down to it . The legs on the chipper hit a speed hump and off it came.

    Yes, Jon it could have been a whole lot worse mate. We got off lightly. Greenmech chipper is a sturdy piece of kit.

    Hi Jon, I mean we snapped the top link and one of the drop arms ... Chipper on its side on the road. Thankfully no major damage
