  4. Hi VI, My faith has had a dramatic and profound effect on my life that is quantifiable. The "mechanics" of my faith and the transformation that has resulted from it are evident even to the most ardent atheist. Cutting edge and established scientific methods consistently proved worthless in helping me escape my addiction issues. Would you say then, that my "cure" and transformation from a low down stinking thieving junkie into a person who spends his life helping others, working hard, continuing on a journey of increasing good character through my faith has been brought about by a delusion???? Really interested to know. Thanks Timon
  5. Huck. Sadly a lot of people are guilty of hiding behind religion and abusing people so I can partly agree with you on this. But JESUS never did and in fact he acted and taught the opposite so when people commit atrocities in his name they shouldn't be called CHRIST-ians because the term is incorrect.
  6. I'm not very well educated so please bear with me. The reformed Protestant church was still very much in its infancy and of course the Catholic Church were keen on crushing (or burning) it. I think Phillips motives were just as much political and financial as they were religious. One of the main aims of the Protestant reformation was that people would have the freedom to read The Bible in their own language and be able to follow the teachings of Christ. Sadly as so often happens politics and greed get in the way. If you have never read the gospels for yourself I would highly recommend it You would see that Jesus himself took a dim view of people that used religion to oppress the very people they were meant to look after.
  7. Would you like to share which of Christ's teachings the Spanish were following? Funnily enough, I was in Madrid Plaza Mayor today. The Spanish Inquisition burned loads of Christians there as heretics. I would like to remind you that a true definition of a Christian is a disciple or a follower of Christ. Someone who follows his teachings. The Auto Da Fe of the Spanish Inquisition had nothing to do with the teachings of Christ.
  8. I've just bought the new 11:8mm venom. A little bit bouncy but tends really nicely on a zig zag
  9. I have Christian faith and have found that there is REAL life transforming power in the Gospel. What other people believe is their own business. I used to be violently opposed to the gospel and all forms of organised religion. But something happened to me that totally changed my life. I have no room to judge anyone on what they believe in. One day we will find out wether our beliefs are founded on truth, or not. I'm certainly not going to try and change anyone's point of view by a couple of posts on an arb forum. Also you won't find me ridiculing you or insulting you because of what you believe in or don't believe in. Just my humble opinion. Best wishes Timon
  10. I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are trying to say.
  11. Fair play to Justin Welby for being honest about his faith and his doubts. Makes a refreshing change to have an Archbishop of Canterbury who doesn't just spout dogmatic sound bites.
  12. Not all faith is blind though.
  13. SIP freedom C in medium are good Or SIP progress in small should fit (I'm about 36" waist) if your climbing
  14. ARBTALK knot guide.
  15. That's right.. We've had a fair bit of welding and fabrication done on the cab. The state of the cab when we got it was one of the reasons it was a bargain really. The chassis and engine were sweet and apart from a clutch kit and tyres we haven't had to fork out too much.
  16. It sits down a bit on the rear but it's not excessive. Also it's a little bit tail happy if you go round corners too quick, but again it's not problematic. The unimog chassis is VERY capable and over engineered as are the springs and running gear. We get 3 times the amount of chip that our high sided tranny carries. We wouldn't be without it. One of the many good things about mogs is that you can improve and develop them as you go rather than see them decay and depreciate like other trucks.
  17. Hi Ian. Nice colour same as ours. You'll wonder how you ever managed without it.......
