  1. The bearings are in hangers, just take one to a local bearing factor, they will match them up, SKF do these type of bearings, and should be readily available.
  2. Sorry i do not understand the question, are you saying it was running on full choke? on the forth pull did you touch the throttle, as this would have released the choke.

    562xp

There is a slight increse in power with the larger filter, as has already been said, everthing on the right hand side of the saw is different on the 562XP.
  4. Engine wise there is no differece between the non e torq machine and the non special machine, the very very early 365 had the inlet boot held to the cylinder with two screws as opposed to a clip like the 372, this cylider is no longer available and replaced by the later cylinder and inlet boot.
  5. thirty plus years of starting saws, tennis elbow in both arms.
  6. Look at the four high points on the oil pump gear, if there is any damage, then the drum has not been engaging and not sitting down properly, this in turn will allow the clutch to jam against the sprocket
  7. Spud hit the nail on the head with this one, probably needs a new oil pump gear now.
  8. You will need to remove the tank/back handle from the saw, once out the cover needs to be removed from the r/h side of the back handle, and the trigger roll pin drifted out, to remove the fuel tank you will also need to remove the carb and all the pipes etc, if you are not too sure how to do this I would suggest the local dealer, getting the carb back on correctly is a bit fiddly.
  9. A one eyed bloke in Haselmere! that would have been Mr Michael Richmond then.
  10. Send me an address and i will see what i have
  11. Do you want a complete chainbrake with adjuster, or just the adjuster.
  12. The 550xp as said runs on .325 pitch chain, if you just want to run a 3/8 pitch chain you can change the rim, Husqvarna do a 3/8 small spline rim 504523002 that will fit on the standard sprocket.
  13. Yes you can buy these, i have straightened plenty of cranks, the Honda ones are as soft as s t but the briggs ones you over bent as they spring back, never had a problem yet.
  14. I was offered two, told him i didnt want them, perhaps if he still has them i should buy them.
  15. So how much is a 242 worth?
  16. The 440 has a Husqvarna produced cylinder, i have no idea how old this saw is but i would say it was bad plating, get it back to a Husqvarna via the local dealer, this should not happen.
  17. This is not a primer, it is a purge, it pulls fuel from the varb, into the bulb, and pushes back to tank, if the bulb pushes in but is very slow to come out, then there is a blockage in the fuel system, always check easy stuff first, fuel tank filter, if ok, dirt in the carb screen under the pump cover, there is two conections on the bulb, short connection is suction so goes to the carb, longer connection is the pressure side so goes back to tank, it is very importent you do not accidently conect the return to tank pipe to the white breather, if the tank has been replaced the conection on the tank is sealed so as to use the tank on a non purge 346, so you need to cut the end of to allow fuel to flow back into the tank.
  18. Just have to know how the best way to go about it, after you have done the first 10 its like falling out of bed, and a lot easier than working on the Stihl.
  19. Bring back the Husqvarna 338XPT fantastic little saw, once run in will wipe the floor with those Stihls, very under rated saw.
  20. The caps will fit the old husqy combi, they are not at an ideal angle but is useable.
  21. Hell fire Eddy, you need to move on with the models, K760,K970,k1260, but you are quite right the shop manuals give compression readings.
  22. Husqvarna do a compression tester part no. 531031686
  23. These are chainsaws, not brush cutters.
  24. Yes i could do that.
  25. Another vote for the drum needle bearing as it only appears to be on idle,
