  11. The Lapwings were always the last to stay behind the Plough when it became Dusk . Also the little Pied wagtales would be under the frame of the plough picking away too and never seem to get run over . Ste
  12. Reason I mention Landfill sites is from my experience tipping on there and watching tv documentary's on them they seem to be easy picking for the seagulls and there ARE thousands. In Widnes they have just built a whopping high roof waste building for Warrington /Widnes bin wagons to quick tip and already its swamped by Gulls . Seagulls getting lazy ? Ste
  13. Where have they gone ? Over the last 5 years or more I gave noticed the decline in following the plough ,has a kid growing up on a farm I loved seeing and being part of this has soon has plough turn over its first furrow there would of been hundreds possibly thousands of Gulls in no time But now you can count on one hand in the northwest but I would love to hear what its like elsewhere. This may sound a strange post unless like myself you have experienced this a phenomenon then you will know what I am talking about . I have a few the theories in my mind .. The increase of landfill sites/re-cycling yards. The increase in Direct drilling onto stubble. Poor soil management ie no Muck getting put back in. Increase use of spraying . Landfill sites seems to be the culprit for me . What are your thoughts ? Ste
  14. Very true ,but that's my opinion based on mainly Hobart and has you say Tasmania probably is a beautiful country . Has I said no offence . Ste

The second saw a Dolmar 118si and it looked mint and it was mint when it arrived But warm it up and no power .£180 2strokes machines are better to go and pickup and try first . Ste
  20. It's amazing what joe public will buy and yet they moan over the size of logs they get in a bulk bag etc and yet they pay silly money for basically A LOG . GOD HELP my misses if she comes home with one ,grounds for divorce . ,Still a good seller though . Ste
  21. There is also the growing numbers of wood hunters these days too ,i have a friend who has a skip hire and he cannot keep up with filling bulk bags of wood from skips that he saws up and leaves them outside his yard for joe blogs to help themselves . Has he is not allowed to have any fires on his yard it makes sense and cheaper to get shut this way . This of course will have a effect on log sales and my local dealer has seen a big increase in Home owner saws ie MS170 for those who going hunting for wood. There is nowt wrong with the above to me/anyone has it makes sense with the prices that some log suppliers are charging . Ste
