  1. I would look at the Hinowa hi lift tracked dumper if going for a conversion has they are very heavy and use a Takeuchi track system which is strong than the TCP etc also the hi lift arms are well up to the Job. I run one but left it has a dumper has it goes well with my Micro digger with a thumb grab . Ste

  4. Last year I noticed for the first time ...... On my insurance documents in VERY small print it says certificate of competence is required now . Does not mention any felling tickets but rope access in confined space excluded . Ste
  5. There is more Fatal accidents caused by in proper use of mobile phones than chainsaws so I think we need to enforce a ticket of competence for them . Lol Ste
  6. Totally agree Stubby ,played about with chainsaws since I was a kid on parents farm and it was only 4years ago I decided to make a effort and get some tickets,. There is hundreds of people like us who have grown up in the industry, too much red tape these days and its been said a million times Tickets/licence don't give you Experience . Ste
  7. Problem is how many chainsaw's are there in circulation now without any qualifications and they will last for years ! Just more red tape to up the cost of saws has government will claw money back through ourselves. Ste
  8. Called in on my local Stihl dealer to price a new drive shaft and low and behold they have one in stock collecting dust from a canceled order so i am waiting for a price now They have printed me the parts and assembly pics too and one of the 2 springs have gone AWOL . Ste
  9. After much debate and a post on here for advice/suggestions and thanks for the replies i decided to take the 3 infected limbs off , 2 on the left and one on right . I thought i made a good call has the limbs were a mess and the previous owners had hacked at this poor old Chesnutt . I Did not take limbs right back but too were they were clear/clean but no doubt the whole tree will succumb in time . 14. Possibly the best bandage and its free is your HAND ! Was told this by a surgeon when I emptied my body of blood in a freak accident on the farm ,natural instinct was too fold flesh back and compress my hand over wound has its seals and moulds too yourself better than a tampax etc. Ste
  15. Totally agree with getting on the ground asap but having some kit with you will help or help others who are injured while someone is scrambling around in van looking for a first aid kit . Ste
  16. Celox and Bandages is all I have in my little red pouch permanently attached too my harness . Girlie plasters etc are in the vans first aid box along with nail clippers . Ste
  17. I swear by the 4mix engines and no you don't a separate can just the same has normal for your 2stroke machines . I have said this before but had no issues in 7years of daily use and STIHL has original spark plug and needs no choke to start most of the time . Its been battered on large estates cutting hawthorn hedges daily and gearbox has been faultless and I have tapped a grease nipple too keep greased regular .
