  1. Ok, so if a freelance climber is working for me and his carabiner or rope fails and he breaks a leg then whats the score?? He doesn't have insurance but I do. But it was his equipment that failed.
  2. As a user of freelancers I learnt long ago that so long as I have E/L and P/L then all is fine. The people who work for me on a freelance basis are covered and do not require insurance while working for me, however I too have heard of company's that use freelance workers and insist that they have insurance which they don't. Some company's seem to bully people into getting it when they don't need it.
  3. 😎😎😎😎😎😎
  4. Will do mate:)
  5. I recon you could take the foam inset out of a set of sordin chipper compatable defenders and cut them down to fit in, I'm gonna try it:)
  6. I thought the ear defenders were ok?? Stick some more foam in them.
  7. Dry and frosty here this morning, makes a nice change:) now for some tree cutting!!
  8. No mate, even bigger?
  9. Well I never thought I would get a Protos helmet but..... I have and its amazing, light and very well fitting, the visor is superb and the ear protection fits like a glove, well worth the money, and considering you wear it so much no big deal. I would recommend them.
  10. Nice job Dean, looks a huge machine for only a 6" chipper.
  11. Good idea, where did you get the winch?
  12. Everybody has different experiences with insurance company's, I've been with trust for 10 years, I had a claim and they paid out. I did get in touch with Arbinsure for a quote, someone was going to ring me back and never did. After I put that on here they then called back. I decided to stay where I am. I am happy with the price I got off trust. You would be best calling them all and seeing who offers the best deal for you.

    Good bye Arbtalk

So long as it isn't bullying people with Timberwolf chippers. LOL :)

    Good bye Arbtalk

You often get out what you put into things and you didn't really put in so maybe that's why you didn't get anything out of arbtalk. You would have been better to just go quietly instead of making a thread about your leaving after giving no meaningful input.. All the best for what ever you move onto:)
  15. Sweet, re direct as well.
  16. I know what you mean, I have some spot lights like that. LoL
  17. I will have a look Robert.
  18. What winch did you buy please?
  19. Hi all, has anyone put a small electric winch on their tracked chipper? What sort did you use?
  20. Maybe it should of been nipped in the bud earlier? After all if the threads are there then we comment on them. The way this one has panned out were made to feel in the wrong for putting our opinions forward. No bad language, no nasty comments etc just a discussion? If I am missing something then please advise.
  21. I have experienced bullying and these comments in this thread are no where near bullying.
  22. I have huck and there ain't no slagging off. Harmless banter that's it.
  23. And if him being named in Chris post is such a big deal why didn't a mod remove his name from the post or have a word before it's turned into this?
  24. But no one has slagged Him off! They have just shown concern to the situation. Everyone knows who works for Chris so if he hadn't mentioned him by name we would have had a good idea who it was.
  25. Ditto!
