I just got asked to tender for a job on a new housing development. There was quite a bit of work. I read all the tree report and no big deal there but upon reading the terms and conditions you find that payment will be at least 61 days from completion and they will withold a certain percentage until they are happy with what you have done. I declined the offer. I don't see why I should wait to be paid for that length of time. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

First of all try Trust 01604 492644 they can help with all insurance and are very reliable. Yes you can insure firewood but of course it will cost. Have you worked out your costings of employing someone to process and sell your wood? Are you buying the timber in? I ask this as firewood on a small scale and employing someone to do it really doesn't make much if any money when you work out all the costings. Good luck anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

How much has the wood cost. How much has it cost to process, how much to deliver. In all this you should account for fuel,ach inert depreciation, wages and profit. Then see what the figure is and add profit. That's how much you need to sell for. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

No I'm not vat reg Chris. They are a great machine, I love mine. I don't do loads of stumps but the ones I do are easy no matter what size. I did a 4ft chestnut in a couple of hours moving and cleaning up and taking all the grindings away. That was one of the longer grinds. I did a 2 ft as in about 30 mins start to finish. The HB 20 is the best pedestrian grinder out there. Lots of power and a dream to use. For 5k you will struggle to get anything any good really. I can't see you getting a tracked machine for 5k anyway. Just get and HB 20 on finance, 2k down and about 190 a month. I can tow my tracked chipper and grinder on 1 trailer.
