  1. I dont like the idea of treated timber plus veggies No Sawmill scabs about for free? That what I have used in the past but now my local source has dried up. Guy was burning them on a massive bonfire to make space pile was the size of small house so I was lucky to save a few from the flames ! 😬 Larch and oak scabs in 2.4m lengths etc Chesnut poles peeled woud also be good and should be about in france?
  2. As long as they aren't rotten/old thus pretty worthless it shouldn't be an issue. Seasoned wood is harder and blunts a chain very slightly faster. If they are of a large diameter and you have a small cc chainsaw it might struggle more and cut abit slower than if they were still green. If so go easy and make sure the chain is sharp & oiling well. Cross cutting big rounds can be hard on a smaller saw.
  3. Is it like darts do you have 3 or would that end in disaster with the axes getting destroyed in the target??
  4. The T ones were cheaper versus the D style but I had to re- screw on the T tops are many were loose.....just stapled on badly. Very fancy handle on this one and also decent looking long socket for a modern tool Greenman Ash Stainless Steel Border Spade S2468 < Greenman Garden Tools GREENMANGARDENTOOLS.COM A very versatile spade at home, in the border, and the vegetable plot in-between plants where its narrower blade means less... Ash is it gonna run out with adb eventually? Carters seem to be the only UK place still advertizing that they are mass producing such items? They look the same as the ones I bought /images/uploads/headers/_standard/handles_header.jpg Spade, Shovel and Fork | Richard Carter RICHARDCARTERLTD.CO.UK Rowan / mountain ash does it mean the wood has similar properties or might be just the leaf shape? Slow growing though to get many handles from it. Ive seen some garden tools advertized with beech handles, & axes form italy and spain often have beech handles fitted as the norm. Hickory or ash is suppose to best for striking tools due to elasticity properties thus give some anti shock and also osage orange is that traditional wood used by natives americans.
  5. Ive tried several & found thoose machines abit pointless as the bag fills so fast. And if you suck up a small stone it can easily crack the plastic. For leaves on flower borders just imo use a rake to get 95% then finish with a blower. Its always the last few % that takes all time ..... Thats the only place I can see some use maybe of the leaf sucker that last few % of leaves stuck on/in other plants Thats the kind of OCD detail they do in japanese gardens with a big leaf tray and bamboo hand rake For large amounts on lawns best just to mow over the leaves to stuck then up and a bonus is the mower shreads them also reducing volume or use a backpack blower or hand held blower to clear the lawn & pile up leaves then you can pick up or if there really is loads maybe consider the big walk behind billy goat ones.
  6. Native birch can be either silver or downy or a mix as 2 hybridize often
  7. Actually I think you might be right, as the bark has a few white bits and theres something about the way the branches twist thats also birchy.
  8. Alder or black popular Bit of rdm guesses from the branch habit and has catkins
  9. Rentier Capitalism /the Marxian school of economics is right on trend atm esp with landlord Donny as Potus.... “The law locks up the man or woman Who steals a goose from off the common; But leaves the greater villain loose Who steals the common from the goose.”
  10. The matching drip trays will cost over fiver each alone i reckon but if buying by the 1000 probably abit cheaper
  11. Permaquip-Multicar Road Rail lorry WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for Permaquip-Multicar Road Rail lorry at the best online prices... This looks cool
  12. I bought a load of fork handles from sam turners. The top T peices were not very well attached though I like the old one piece handle design but they aren't sold anywhere as handle blanks in the UK would be nice to make some but maybe with the wood grain direction they look abit weak versus the metal D versions?
  13. BBC accent

  17. Well the 545rxt carb settled down and fixed its self somehow with regards to starting without me doing anything different so i never thought it needed to be checked anymore. It was working fine with no issues for a few months since last Nov. Then I noticed a few weeks back the bearings on the gearbox are feeling rough so im not very confident they will last that long & yesterday it started leaking all the fuel out of the carb like this: Just so happens it was the hottest day in 2025 so far yesterday also but was not really that hot..... Also my 550xp suddenly started leaking its chain oil at the same time....which is new...
  18. Ive done it for 3 or 4 different fussy mrs miggin's several yrs ago who didn't want any of the leaves cut in half so it is a real thing. Yeah is all conny on a closer look
  19. So whats the advantage of theese gun grip style things over the smaller battery toppers like the battery echo for example? Im not sure the total weight it that much different?
  20. Non apart from the neighbours can peer at you if using the backyard. Also thats beech on one side not conny.
  21. All theese saws imo are more dangerous than a regular chainsaw in some ways in the fact that they are designed for one handed use and the small size & weight may encourage complaceny The above mentioned safety features are relatively irrevelant to its safety imo versus always just being aware of the dangers of the one handed use issue. See what can happen with battery secateurs:
