  1. Happy with my hand held husky 525BX 2 stroke Better than the stihl BG86 I reckon. I looked into battery ones as have alot of makita battery tools but they had alot less less power & very short battery life.
  2. Makitas version has a proper oiler i noticed. Already have the dinky 18v makita topper so don't really see the need for one as any thing smaller can also be done with decent loppers or silky Agree about the safety issues bit like one handing a topper on the ground best avoided if possible.
  3. I tried some Waterproof gortex lined boots but hated them them as found them to hot and sweaty. Feet drenched in sweat due to the gortex felt worse than feet wet from outside. So back to dubbin or wet feet & if they when get wet from sweat or wet fr0m outside alternate the boots worn everyday and put the spare pair on the electric boot drier.
  4. Thoose aren't walnut leaves btw

  13. When clearing or snedding up trees etc have found abit of extra reach is useful so like a 15" or 16" or a max of 18" for for 50cc. I got a 13" bar once to try for use on coppicing hazel but went back to the 15" on a 40cc saw. Found the extra 2" reach was more handy even though all the stuff was no more than max 4" cuts.
  14. Just had a look on google maps Google Maps WWW.GOOGLE.COM Lists some local suppliers^ From the satellite imagery you can see the place is in a more sparsely wooded area between a distinct line to the north above which is is nearly all hardwood forests and not far to the south is a massive area off pine forest so should be plenty of wood about..... 21. Id of thought that the gvx160 engine on that honda might be abit small/underpowered for old tussocky paddock or orchard grass? I had a honda izy mower with the same engine that struggled with longer wet grass...... Im thinking you need something thats still light enough to load on the back of a van but with a decently sized H.P engine to still cut old tussocks etc?
