  1. Jeez, the world has gone Feckin bonkers.. Seasons greetings to you anyway.... if that's still a thing😄
  2. I'm right there with you 100% on this subject, and there are many other real scientists and open minds saying exactly the same but as I see it most folk are deaf, dumb and blind to what's being forced upon them... probably always been the case but it doesn't bode well for our immediate future..... anyway, A happy Christmas to you and yours
  3. I like to think that there's lots of us👍
  4. Aye, your not wrong there, I'm generally not a country guy but these 2 are a big exception, spent a few hours today getting my head around the chords for Witchita [ after @stubby's input ] which are sublime and way different to my norm and very easily rewarding. As they say, every day is a school day. Seasons greetings to you and yours👍
  5. Yep, the lucky man had 5 wives or more correctly 4 and one long term, but I know what you mean about Witchita lineman a great Jimmy Webb song, he was quite a prolific song writer in the country scene👍 Ok just had a look at the chords for said song and at first glance it don't look straight forward. WICHITA LINEMAN CHORDS (ver 7) by Glen Campbell @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com TABS.ULTIMATE-GUITAR.COM All lyrics and breaks with their accompanying chords and bass notes. Tablature of guitar solo. Full chord legend included.
  6. Yeah, I couldn't get it out of my head after hearing it for the first time a few months ago so I decided to give it a go... and I generally haven't been a country kind of a guy playing wise as it always all seemed too difficult and a totally different technique to get my fingers around. The song itself is quite catchy and rewarding reasonably quickly once you get the words hammered in.. and so far I'm about a 1/3 through the solo { the easy..er bit } at a slower speed, but building🙂 This guy gives an accurate for note by note practice also bearing in mind you can slow down YouTube even more. And seasons greetings to you and yours, cheers.. 👍
  7. Locally a choice of 3 natural uncontaminated mountain springs most of the time, beautiful sweet water and totally different to what comes oot the tap... I can't see how you could criticise this. As our bodies are approximately 60% H2o then how on earth could you argue that water contaminated with numerous chems is in any way better? Granted that plastic bottles are not an ideal way of storing spring water or probably anything else, but as plastic contamination is almost unavoidable these days I'd kinda treat it as a separate problem / issue for discussion. I'm not really interested in an argument about this, but I'll happily discuss the pro's and con's of ' wot's in the water ' with yourself or anyone else.. if you disagree with anything that I say. Cheers.
  8. It's the 'Eastenders' war for dummies, and it highlights how little ' they ' care about the lives that they're destroying and how WE need to watch our feckin backs..., particularly in light of the treacherous bastards that are currently in both sides of government here and around the world and are deliberately and unpicking everything of society that they can in order to cause chaos... imo
  9. Well I'm in Glasgow atm and looking around me I don't think very much of the flesh would be deemed fit for human consumption... after all you wouldn't be allowed to feed farm animals the shyte that most seem to guzzle down. But on the other hand if rendered down , I see a fuel supply to keep me warm🙄
  10. Whilst I won't dip into your thoughts on birth control, I will say that since when some years ago I did look into what's actually put into Scottish water I no longer drink or cook with it. I don't believe that any of the Halogens are compatible with living tissue, human or otherwise, and fecking with what comes out your convenient household tap is very easy and effective. This group of elements are known to effect the intellect, emotions and much much more.... yet most of the modern world gulps in their daily trace dose of them with any tap water that's consumed without the slightest notion that they might be being medicated. I think I noticed that you said before that you were up for much more plain speaking on any subject, so..........
  11. OK, maybe that was a thought tooo far, but it was a thought never the less...
  12. That was worrying me as well until I realised that our forward thinking leaders are busy garrisoning fit young men in smart hotels all around the country just in case they're needed.👎
  13. The destruction of reason, I think she has this in a nutshell.
  14. I don't think it's a common practice but I come from an engineering background and bring with me perhaps a slightly different mindset when it comes to how tools cut... you too I guess as I've seen your work and I've also had a go at taking carpenters tools to the nth degree of sharp 👍 I had to force myself not to watch any other of the amazing boat builds just for the amount of time it takes... but I did get drawn in to Mathew Cremona's huge bandsaw build a few years ago, cheers.
  15. Hi, yes I've done this successfully with the intent of keeping the chain at a steady temperature and therefore maintaining the optimum tension throughout the cut specially on bigger logs where a long chain can get quite warm and sloppy. I'd say it works and reduces the gouging that can occur when stopping and starting in the cut which eventually leads to less planing. The max I can mill is 42" [ and that's rare ] so nowhere near as much as many on here and I've no experience of how slack a real long chain gets when it expands due to temp. I also think that the water acts with the chain oil as extra lube leading to less sharpening, particularly if the wood is hard or dry... anyway it's easy enough to try but you do need waterproofs😄 Also I've watched the whole of the rebuild of Tally Ho since someone on here mentioned it years ago.. what an undertaking and what great craftsmanship, cheers.
  16. A wee bit of country anyone ?
  17. Also handy for hooking the winch to👍 but my age and sore back can't imagine an 80"+ set up😁
  18. As an unpolitically minded observer I can't argue with any of that... there needs to be a rout of these would be globalists and their agenda on both sides of the house and honest people with our countries interests at heart put in charge of this sinking ship... if any such competent people exist ! Cheers.
  19. Heat it in the oven till yer spit bounces off.. it used to annoy my mother a lot 50 years ago😄
  20. Yes I also like it for the same reasons, I milled some random Cypress a few years ago and I dip into the stack every now and again when I need a nice piece of figured wood... much of it has very nice pillowing of the grain.👍 I'll never like it as a hedge though😁
  21. Hi, that sounds like a good plan, it'll still be green in April I'd think, I paint the ends with SBR a waterproof pva. If you're worried about bugs or fungal staining, paint the planks with a solution of Borax, Ikg mixes well into 5 gallons of hot water. And I'd probably soak the posts in real creosote. 22. Hi, you should check out the ' todays milling ' thread there's just about everything you need to know on there. For my tuppence worth I'd say mill it asap and stack it to season or it will be very hard.. as said a year an inch plus a year so 3 years for a 2" board, paint the ends to prevent cracking and weigh down or band the stacks. Not sure that oak's ideal for cladding but if it were to be used for this purpose I don't see why it couldn't be put up green in a similar fashion to the way Larch is used... but I could be wrong there, good luck👍
  23. Groomed for sure, but by Klaus Schwab and co as were many of the others who would lord it over us. It's not even a secret anymore... they're remit must be to destroy every aspect of the normal life that we're used to, and not just here but globally.
  24. Mountain from 1970, I thought I'd throw this in as it's rare footage with the sound being not too bad.. which is unusual.
  25. Not read any of this thread since June but I mostly run older saws and had noticed that my usual oil, medium viscosity from Northern Arb was running through too quickly and not that tacky.. I'd normally expect the oil to last at least 2 tanks of fuel. Switched to Gator oil ET50 which is SAE 50 and it's as tacky as I remember chain oil to be in my youth. So 20 litres of the tacky stuff is the same price as 25 of the thin stuff... I'm definitely using less oil and what gets used stays on the chain much better... but the chain cover needs removed and cleaned more often due to increased build up of sticky chip and it's much more of a mess on your hands.. so pros and cons👍
