  1. +1 for overhanging roofs👍
  2. I'd say that if you mean the scaffold debris netting and the Galebreaker which may be the same knitted product with probably 1/4" to 3/8" holes in the knit depending how tight you stretch it... at 32 squid it's a no brainer as it also has many other uses and won't degrade over a long time👍
  3. Hi, I've used scaffolding debris netting for this purpose, I hung it about 12" away from a 6' high covered log stack with no side protection... it worked well and heavy rain mostly ran down it and stayed off the stack, in good weather I could easily remove or roll it up.... It also comes in 3 meter widths if you needed that. A good big roll for £32👍 NEW Green Shade Garden Debris Scaffold Netting 2m x 50m RRP £69.99 WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Safe Net Green Shade Debris Scaffold Netting 2mtr x 50mtr. Though Debris Netting provides limited weather protection, it...
  4. A very interesting link, cheers.
  5. Hi, I'm finding it pretty difficult to see any detail in your pics could you not blow the shit off the area and repost a better view. There are several possibilities when it comes to a repair of an alloy casting whether Magnesium or not, you just need to find someone able to do it, cheers. Welding a Magnesium casting.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElT5qmUyagU
  6. Great name, same eyes👍
  7. It's not news, but it's someone's down to earth views.. and Andrew is a very sharp commentator imo......
  8. Aye, if I'm cutting and splitting fire wood I tend to cut a bit then split a bit as I've found that if I go in just cutting till the battery is done then it will overheat and not charge until it's cooled down and as you say when the battery gets hot it doesn't last as long. Having said that, if I'm on a tidying up a type of garden job with sporadic use I'm often surprised just how long 1 battery can last. I've heard folk talking about Ego tools and to satisfy my curiosity I found this review, cheers.
  9. Sorry, no.. it was something I read a year or so ago when a reporter was interviewing folk in NZ who were very unhappy with what was being imposed on them. A quick google tells me that I was wrong about this it seems and it's just old style coal and wood fuelled fireplaces that the government want rid of in favour of ' lower emitting burners ' Apologies, and it just goes to show that you can't always believe much that you read or hear online, I happily would edit out that paragraph but it seems that that option is not being offered when I click on it.
  10. A long long time ago in a ............
  11. Jeez, I hadn't heard, I was just watching him the other night.. he was a totally unique one off amazing talent whilst also being a normal guy.. what a loss, and as you have already said.. Thanks for all he gave us.
  12. I know how you must feel as one of the only guys I kept in tough with from my schooldays is on his last legs atm, he was a very good guitarist although unknown except locally, cheers.
  13. Amazing, had to watch all four👍
  14. I have to say I very much agree, in that the article itself was mostly common sense imo, but many of the negative comments emphasise just how uninformed and led by the nose general society has become, or as I believe deliberately dumbed down to the LCD and kept there by their lack of just about everything that would have once been important for survival, cheers.
  15. Unfortunately when you see brainless rubbish that's being pushed everywhere and what's happening around the world... I don't think it'll be very long before Scotland's arsehole parliament will try the same pish of making it illegal to heat yourself with fire which will be a defining moment in the history of our evolution. I believe the the Ardern corrupt government of NZ has banned any kind of burning anywhere which has caused may rural folk to have to leave their homes, and I expect that Sturgeon has similar evil ambitions, not to mention her perverted sexualisation of children nonsense.👎👎 Meant to say that I enjoyed the link you put up, Cheers.

  17. Sorry to hear that Doug it's always a difficult time, I'm not long after losing my Lucy at the same age so how you feel is still very fresh in my mind, cheers.
  18. Aye, I believe that each of Henry 8's fleet needed around 10 ha or 1,000 trees of 'managed' for hundreds of years Oak woodland, leading on to Nelson's ships needing more than 4 times that per boat. I did read that the stunted rotting unmanaged oak woodlands around the Loch Lomond area were planted just after Henry's and pre Nelson's era with a nod to the future of shipbuilding... and then came the industrial rev, and people forgot to care. To put it in perspective, had the above mentioned wood been managed properly they would still have 2 or 3 hundred years to go before harvesting... changed days eh ! It kind of points to the completely different mindset of past times where folk didn't just rip out nature without any foresight but had worked with it for millennia.... thinking about this while I type I guess that the stripping out of nearly all of the mature ancient Oak woodlands to build Men o' war must have been the biggest change to this country since the ice melted, and once the resource was used up it was essentially gone for ever, cheers.
  19. And to safety of the rest of us, after all they seem to be importing a muslum army at the moment and they all have totally values and morals to ours, and all that prick is doing is giving them justification for whatever may happen next... I can see no reason for the current situation other than outright treason👎
  20. My thoughts exactly...
  21. Fair point re graphite, but not really the point ... The tech employed by the two different approaches to space flight was remarkably different up until their joint collaborations when at which time the different systems had to be compatible. In any case the Soviet Space programme { over time } was arguably proven to be a more reliable and safe delivery into orbit system than a lot of what NASA did, after all it's only the recent arrival of Spacex that's knocked them off their top spot of being the only option in the supply of everything to the space station since the last shuttle flight in 2011. Soyuz may have been a bit agricultural in comparison to the shuttle but nothing wrong with comparative simplicity imo .. and it became very tried and tested over time... ...anyway wax crayons then😄
  22. Very nice👍
  23. Yep, if I remember correct Frank's test bed was a Velocette, there's an old book out there called ' valve mechanisms for high speed engines ' by P Smith which documents the details of many of the alternative valve mechanisms that were conceived, designed and tried out as early as more than a century ago. I've wanted a copy all my life but they are very scarce now and command a high price when they do appear, cheers.
  24. Aye, the downside is that it's the total fecking answer to efficient combustion of fuel in IC engines which along with other buried tech like Hydrogen fuel for example would totally contradict the nasty crap narrative that we're expected to swallow these days... I mean, a simple engine that has twice the efficiency of what's considered normal that more completely combusts the fuel leaving far less waste products and is all in much better all round ... Why wouldn't you embrace the idea / concept? Answer.. the military has and that's where it's gone. Interestingly enough, on the same subject an English engineer named Frank Aspen is worth a google👍
