  5. Started using husky technical helmets for ground work, very happy with them. Like ones in link below. http://www.buxtons.net/helmet-technical-forest-helmet
  6. Bolle trackers for us at work really good
  7. Agreed, but I would do all future communication with them by correspondence letter or e-mail, in case it turns nasty and you might be maligned. Having something written down on any proposed works at least gives you a fall back line. Otherwise it you word against the Charity and you can guess who would be the loser.
  8. we have a set of chains with sharp hooks like tree hooks which hook into the rootball but they only work on really well made rootballs
  9. Toro used the onan engine in the wheel horse and John Deere used it too as I got a carburettor for one from my JD dealer a while ago.
  10. We do 20/25 and upwards. soft slings are the way to go we usually wrap some hessian around the trunk first and then soft sling them, our supplier has a hiab so trees are easily unloaded and on street schemes they can drop them where we need, a 3 ton mini digger is fine to move them around. Just watch the bark as trees are easily damaged from now on.
  11. Model Profile: XL AUTOMATIC there are a few XL listed on this website. I have one as well but there is no vibe dampening on it
  12. +1 for Tanaka, we have used them for yonks, good hardy machines, we use them as strimmers, hedge cutters and we have a saw head which is handy as well. We have a good dealer as well which helps a lot,
  13. Silver Varta only, as we found the black and to a lesser degree the blue vatra were not as good. Yuasa are good as well. Oddessy make one of the best batteries I have ever used but are big bucks
  14. An standard approved first aid mean they can tic off the box, and really that's all most clients and their representative want imo.
  15. We have both horizontal and vertical, I reckon the vertical one is better, here is a vid of it in use
  16. I have run both Iseki and John Deere and believe the John Deere are a better machine, we have one JD 455 on our fleet which we bought in 1998, it still cuts 35 hours a week and collects in all weather, all parts are still available for it too, we run newer JDs as well but this one is my favourite.
  17. Just to update this and thank all for information offered. Job has been to-ing and fro-ing for the last while, as access is an issue but got the go ahead last week, we hired a Dosko 6 Hp stump grinder and it did a great job, just as well we went with the grinder as there was weed barrier buried which was covered with years of leaves and mulch which the grinder handled as well. being a manual machine was a bit of a pain but job is done and invoice has been tendered
  18. :-)) thank my parents for the K's
  19. Thanks for the replies, wasnt sure if the bamboo would be too fiberous for the chipper as all we can get in is a small pedestrian model, of which I have no experience.
  20. We cut an area of bamboo down 2 years ago and have been treating the area with glyphosate and mechanical cutting to kill off the plants, we now have the rough stumps of the bamboo left. the area is bounded on one side by brick paving and on the other by a rubber soft play surface. Would a standard stump grinder grind down the bamboo, or any other suggestions would be welcome. Area is enclosed with pedestrian access only.
  21. IHI ELECTRIC MINI DIGGER/EXCAVATORFor Sale in Wexford - DoneDeal.co.uk 220v mains electric mini digger? might be someone local to you has something like this for hire
  22. We have a Spragelse Greenline Shredder for about 10 years now we run it behind a 2140 John Deere, its a really good bit of kit it will shred up to 6 inches but we would never put timber of that size into it as thats good fire wood. it shreds everything we throw into it and we have never had to edge or do anything to the hammers in that time. when we bought it the salesman said "you can throw a sheet of galvanise into it as it will be fine".......................so we did, and it was ..........
  23. NORISK | Collections As general safety boots we find the Franklyn Waterproof boots very good, comfortable to wear and waterproof. light too.
  24. Best one I've seen was on a Range Rover we bought a few years ago, in the filter area inside the gearbox was the previous owners phone number and post code.
  25. we use this for small areas, with the mulcher and side delivery they are hard to clog up. Otherwise we run John Deere diesel ride ons mowers with commercial collectors which are really good.
