  1. Second this, we always charge a clean up fee if we have to sort someone's mess out, on with the collector when its dry and make a few bob.
  2. I would be on the forget it side, you gave the client a detailed quote after a lenghty discussion where you have discussed the tree in detail. however the client has rejected your advice and you proposal to remedy the issue, If you persue the issue now it will look like sour grapes on your side and any advice given will not be acted on. If there is a third party like your local council who could intervene then this would be my way forward. we had something similar when a dead oak tree was dangerous, I met the owner and mentioned the tree was dangerous and was likely to fall, I was thanked but politely told it was none of my business. We were doing grounds maintenance in the area and over a coffee with the council supervisor I mentioned my concern, he then ensured the tree was dealt with and removed, we did not do the tree work but as the road was used by kids going to the local shop I was glad the authorities stepped up and got the work done.
  3. Or use these which we find very good but expensive Nord-Lock | Wedge-locking washers and Superbolt tensioners | Your trusted partner for optimizing bolted joints
  4. I have a Tmax double pump compressor and it will easily pump the rear wheel of our John Deere if needed.
  5. +1 for tanaka most of our power tools are these and they take dogs abuse and keep working. Having a good dealer local works as well. not used their saws though
  6. Great bits of kit, we use them as well and are very happy with them, also we mount the comms kits on a set of ear defenders and use them weekends offroading,
  7. Good move on you and the companys behalf, I think if you had gone in there all guns blazing you more than likely would have been compensated but I would fear new work would have been slow in coming your way, as it stands all is resolved amicably and you are not out of pocket, also you have a few brownie points in the bank for future use. I have always believed a frank and open discussion will clear the air and then its business as usual. well done to both sides.
  8. Regarding this I feel you might win the battle but lose the war if you push too far. I would have a word with the guy who emailed you and express your disappointment with the way things were handled. There might be a reason for their actions. Maybe he might be able to help you in the future.
  9. Tough one really, we normally only consider we have the job when we get written confirmation (post / email ) as we have been burned before. when someone rings to say we have the job we always ask them to confirm this via email.
  10. I have been burning fresh leylandii all winter with a bit of coal, ran the brush up the chimney last week and its whistle clean

  14. If Scotland joins the euro zone then they will be able to import kit from UK less vat if registered, like we can from NI. We tend to make large purchases like trailers etc in Northern Ireland and avail of no vat.
  15. Hire when needed no hassle with certification or anything then,
  16. Hi all just a note to show my truck. we have a 6 cylinder 4.2 tdi Mwm engine fitted to this wagon, makes it fairly move along. Engine is rated at 150hp. Landrover is used to tow trailers all the time including a 21ft bevertail we use to carry mowers for contract works
  17. We have a long avenue into our property which is gravelled, we use a big chunk of 12 inch RSJ with a 3 point linkage welded to it and pull it behing a 4 wheel drive tractor, if its used weekly it fills in the holes fine. there is a quite a bit of traffic on the road including an artic truck.
  18. Ha ha sorry folks different part of the world, Based south west Ireland, huge demand for chip around here as it a very big dairy producing area. I usually have a waiting list! We only do tree work on sites we do grounds maintenance on.
  19. Hello all, first post on this forum, we have a list of local farmers who are always willing to take chip as they use is for outdoor standing/feeding areas for cattle. Just a thought.
