  1. I bought it like this and don't know how long it has been run like this if at all, I'm going to try and convert it to a chainsaw so going to need to get the right filters for it
  2. Yep, took out the plate and found the hole. Thanks eddie
  3. It's not a ts510 it's a ts 50 Does the worm gear go in behind the clutch ?
  4. Bought on eBay and picked it up I think it is a stihl 050 that has been converted into a disc cutter. Doesn't look like it's had much use. Never had oil in the tank, looks new inside. The starter wouldn't catch so not sure bout compression, but turned piston with flywheel and not seized. Not pulled muffler yet. I've got a couple of questions, what is this lever? Is it to adjust oil flow or is it to do with the disc cutter attachment? I know the old 050s had points but I think this is electronic ignition, do you think it's original? Can you tell if so? I would like to try to get it running and use it so any help is greatly appreciated

  8. Good pics timon. So many different ideas on this thread, none wrong, it's just a question of what you want to achieve in the end really. Yes it's good for habitat, but if you do want it gone then sever it - never thought about doing it before crown break good idea! it reduces comp in the crown and wind sail but still leaves habitat but leaves habitat takes a bit longer as the tree has to be climbed and yes you would have to do this every year. Leave it to fall off naturally then all the bugs can find homes gradually.
  9. Nice dog chris, I want a lurcher when I move to a bigger house For now Betty will have to do!
  10. No one should be made to climb a tree covered in ivy, even if they want to! Horrid stuff! Put some pics of the trees up ti, then u may get some better advice. But I would just sever the ivy at the bottom and remove the first metre on the trunk. A small chainsaw and a claw hammer is what I use and I very rarely cut the bark
