  1. Plus it's tainted the axe, chainsaw and any other gear he's worn.
  2. Your honour it was a very spicy pizza
  3. It's perfectly safe to burn
  4. Usually indicates there's is a nail somewhere
  5. Cheaper and less chance of getting reported for doing something naughty. Ecoplug and keep cutting off any new shoots, eventually it'll use up all it's stored energy and die. Might be worth stump grinding to accelerate the process.
  6. Speak to the planning officer for an initial indication. They are usually pretty open and let you know the score even before you buy a property.
  7. It would make Lyndsey Hoyle's job a little more entertaining, but can we atleast have red squirrels instead of horrible greys ?. Unless that is some how going to be representative of the north south divide ?
  8. It's certainly getting pretty scary, especially when you look abroad to see where things are heading energy shortage wise. Personally I think most of the developed world has no option but to backtrack on all the green whitewashing shenanigans and start going back to nuclear and maybe start thinking about using those wind turbines when it's too windy and excess solar for possibly heat storage or at the very least hydrogen production.
  9. Even those in the rural backwaters need a bit of light relief and a fag afterwards 🙂
  10. On the plus side you'll need your gloves on for any hot drinks and anyone with burnt hands will have to confess to stealing his mug.
  11. Just petrol and diesel!, next you'll be saying they don't even sell Nobby's nuts or something adventurous like pot noodle in that rural backwater!
  12. Looks like Grindley Brook Garage, SY13 4QJ
  13. I would assume washing things down would be the sensible solution, you can hardly boil wash everything. Even standard farming practices such as boot washing only goes so far!. However, I would say any risk would be extremely minimal, unless you were visiting another avian site and even then how far down the new gear route can you justify for each survey ?. I'm sure the old "Practicable" phrase is the important factor, you used the term guano so presumably it's pigeon as apposed to a poultry or geese farm.
  14. Providing it's in a safe place away from people, just leave it until winter and let nature take its course.
  15. You could say it's been sprinkled with pixy dust. Your honour I wasn't going to smoke it, I'm a rope maker honest!.
  16. I think I'll stick to my petrol HS81's for the miles of hedges and side arm flail for everything else. Domestic jobs I would definitely agree that's probably the way forward.
  17. Whilst I know as much as the next man about refining. Wiki says in 2000 we had 12 refineries, we now have 6 as of 2019. What I can't fathom is aviation fuel, if airlines are cancelling due to staff shortages, there must be an absolute ton of unused fuel laying around in storage. So one would assume they can pickup the slack and make more road fuels.
  18. Great, we've reduced politics to crufts. Whomever has the prettiest fur and teeth, as regardless they are yapping poo producing machines. And by all accounts the MP which started it all from his wayward hands still hasn't resigned.
  19. From my memory it also doesn't increase regardless of how many acres you own which seriously limits what your able to do.
  20. Whilst I like a few of the other members tread a fine line as a woodland owner. I would say treat it as a long term project, fell little & often, obviously starting at the footpath, maybe even fence it off to add to the safety aspect. And always completely chip any tree or haul it away off site. Leave nothing as evidence and do a few days a month or whatever the owner can afford.
  21. Whilst the government does control the taxation element, which is the same the world over. Using the USA as an example, it's lack of spare and new refining capacity within each country, the USA were operating at 94%, which is actually dangerously high. One breakdown and the system collapses. It's a short sighted developed world idea to ship refining abroad so it doesn't appear as your co2 emissions. Like most essential items, fuel, toilet roll etc. Whilst the raw materials can come from anywhere it's easier and cheaper to produce the finished good here.
  22. If it does get to £2.50 a litre, you will have effectively bankrupted the haulage and agricultural industry. There are limits to what people can pay without a major shift upwards in pay and the cost of goods. Your not gaining anything tho. Didn't fuel jump up from 0.65 > £1 around 2008 and never come back down, I'm sure I remember petrol stations scrabbling to upgrade signage because of the additional digit ?
  23. Having spoken to the council a few times on this subject, they explained that they have to send a letter regardless, it's the first of many many steps tho, neighbors do it to get a rise out of you. They pretty much said, keep to sensible hours, if it's your own yard get CCTV to give you peace of mind and proof of they are lying or at the very least stretching the truth.
  24. I'm not sure if the Turing test for internet bots includes cheesy jokes. I guess that would be one step up from asking alexa to sing you a song 🙂
  25. I guess that's atleast an improvement on the widow maker design I had, certainly not knocking the new ones as I've not looked recently. I just find a saw quicker, it's hard work and double lifting etc. The old YMMV 😉
