  1. Does that include the PPE that wasn't to spec or just a little excess stock ?
  2. Whilst after doing some research, I am somewhat sceptical at the £30-75 per hour, I wouldn't expect any Dr to be earning less than 100 an hour especially as a jobbing locum. NHS waste is more at the top than at the bottom, removing useless layers of upper management and return to central style purchasing where they had the power to negotiate and drive down prices.
  3. Don't think Stere was necessarily cherry picking, but nasgp says there are around 17,190 locums. So at £800 a day that's £1.3m a day.
  4. Next you'll be telling me all those highly paid CEO types are more than just a figure head!.
  5. How about for a complete and utter laugh, deputise the useless solitary green party MP. But, whoever gets the position will be tainted until either the next election or a better choice of leader.
  6. Not sure about it being the end, the question people seem to ignore is who would replace him and that's slim pickings. Would it be a disposable temporary replacement or an actual conservative. As the current names read like a suicide note for the conservatives, personally if they are going to take charge and return to Tory values Lord Frost wouldn't be a bad choice
  7. The Muppets throwing rubbish are absolutely everywhere I'm afraid, not just north of the border. Maybe have a new law that if you're caught throwing rubbish larger than a water bottle on camera, the police can pull you over and smash a window of their choice ?.
  8. Why would you even need a 2nd or a 3rd rifle ?. Just because Arnold Schwarzenegger fired two at a time doesn't make them more accurate.
  9. Wonder if he caught it whilst getting a pizza for Justin Welby.
  10. If it was lowering sea levels instead of rising there would be a in-depth exposé about a poor Aussie fella mowing the grass against all odds with Gretta crying and picking up plastic
  11. If you read that article it's hardly a new discovery, they use Google earth pictures to show it's existence. Must be a slow news day.
  12. I've not read the article, but I can only guess most people on arbtalk are well adjusted types 30+ years of age. We've all grown up with 1980s gory films, video games (ok graphics have gotten more real) and turned out well adjusted. The only real change that I can see is the overwhelming reach of social media and 24/7 news. You can't help but also notice the constant mental health excuses wheeled out everywhere, not saying there is not a problem but if the media is to be believed there must be a huge increase compared to historical figures.
  13. Wassailing or it is more reparations?. Could we get those Romans back to sort the wall or are we a bit over the warranty period ?
  14. Didn't Nicola also go down south with the begging bowl yesterday?.
  15. What about using something such as an elastic bungee cord, gives a bit of stretch whilst the tree grows for a couple of years, just remember to attach and reattach once a year to ensure its not cutting into the bark. As Dan says we've all seen trees with washing line embedded within the trunk. Depending on what lights your using it might be better attaching them onto a washing line or rope when you put them up as even with a good quality set of lights, you don't really want to be putting too much tension on the electrical cable.
  16. Concealed carry does require a permit. But like anything, you've got to know what you're doing and practice. They say you're average soldier probably fires less than a hundred rounds throughout there whole time in the military, especially so during peace time.
  17. Yeah, the old if you can't be nice say nothing kicked in 🙄
  18. I hate to break it to someone like mull regarding this subject, you cannot compare the UK & USA, we have the strictest laws in the whole world regarding obtaining and keeping a licenses. If you're argument actually had any validity then why not compare the USA and Canada. They are literally neighbors with practically zero borders in many places, sadly it's the culture not the laws and was well documented in a Michael Moore documentary.
  19. It's not as tho the opposition is completely untarnished, regardless of how starmer spins his beer and curry evening. You can argue one party did less etc, but labour don't have to deal with the civil service and the thousands of people that involves. I just want them to say we all f'd up and for everyone to just get back to doing the job we need them to do.
  20. Usual smoke and mirrors kinda stuff, personally i think we all know it was wrong but at the same time the Westminster bubble and the media are completely drowning out anything else happening in the world. Politics is a bit like South park and the giant douche and a poo sandwich, you vote for the lesser of two evils.
  21. The mind does boggle about this whole energy prices and the recent dishy rishie spending & windfall tax, just remove the mandatory green charges for everyone and all the complexity disappears in a heartbeat. Then just allow the eco types a tariff which includes the green charges, they can then virtue signal to they're friends how much extra they're paying to save the world from doom and gloom.
  22. Not sure about them obeying the lockdown rules, but I think they have said UK crime was down due to people being at home which would have included schools. Best not try to rationalize the actions of a nutter, but that also applies to every dictator/freedom fighter and crackpot.
  23. I was buying IBC cages for 16 delivered last year.
  24. Knowing how flimsy those things are I'd love to see a filled one splitting apart like a sandcastle. Anyone keeping that much wood really needs to use IBCs, an 8ft cube is going to be wet through in the centre.
  25. 3k sounds a bit stiff for an electric motor and gearbox, but then again it might be a kit supplied directly from Finland which would help the resale value. If it’s not supplied from the manufacturer I’d be tempted to do a bit of reverse engineering and speak to someone like Flowfit, might be around 1500 Inc Vat for something you can bolt the engine on and off and return it to as it was manufactured in the event of a sale.
