  1. It has everything to do with the price of fish, the food has to be grown somewhere. How is exporting the growing to say a third world country better for the environment?.
  2. Do you really think European farmers are applying an expensive input poorly tho?. Practically every farmer will employ an agronomist to tell them what/where and how and take soil samples accordingly.
  3. Is that arguing we should have actual punishments or just wasting money on the legal system?. Maybe we can get them crushing rock, I would be happy for them to work as navies and restore canals. Hard work and learning practical skills. Supposedly it's 30k a year to lock someone away, so say march to october doing such work.
  4. Is that the Weston super mare tourist advert ?
  5. I'll assume it's the plan to prevent farmers using their land productively. Banning the sensible use of fertiliser because of nitrogen emissions, whilst at the same time making diesel drivers use adblue. Which shock horror creates nitrogen.
  6. Think that all depends on if the other properties are your minions. If they we're you'd probably have one minion for arbtalk, can't get ones fingers dirty.
  7. When you've a entire postcode for the gate house and another for the house I guess Billy was right.
  8. You could also say you can't really just become upper class in a similar fashion. Just because your footballer rich doesn't give you that status, bit like Chris eubank in the 90s.
  9. Can't believe that we are actually discussing the social status of drug dealers. Does that make Pablo Escobar upper class or maybe royalty ?. Whilst I can argue about ones status, I think to a degree it's generally your children that are born into a class. You may attain that standing be it employment, education etc but they are the ones that go on to expect it without thinking about it. But I think most of us are somewhere in the hinterland of working/middle class.
  10. Talk about an upgrade to a poster boy, that's more of a mobile billboard.
  11. Everyone knows it's never going to come back positive, one can dream
  12. That should be fun watching, didn't the last election fail to elect a party as it's the European style coalition governments. Plus it'll be interesting if the Finland PM tests positive for cocaine.
  13. On a sample size of three turbines in India, surely they could find somewhere a little closer to MIT. I would hope turbine manufacturers a d installers already knew about wake turbulence, it's the reason they have to separate big planes and spacing whilst landing. Which I think was also the reason for fitting winglets to the a380, to reduce vortices on landing.
  14. Think it's pretty much the world over at the moment, Australia just changed parties, new Zealand are fed up of the smiling Arden. Canada similar with Trudeau, Sweden might also switch party. Might be something of a reflection on career politicians, all focus group policy and zero real world experience.
  15. With the exception of the kitchen staff, never annoy them!
  16. Well, companies can't pay less than the minimum wage so your options are very limited without resorting to a free for all American style system. At the same time you'll be then wanting rent or mortgage caps per month as that's one of the primary outlays. Obviously I am generalising and ignoring those who expect the state to pay for gaggles of kids.
  17. In that case the only real solution is to increase the minimum wage.
  18. Not made any better by the legal but dodgy sweet heart tax arrangements with all those tech companies. Did the Irish ever actually bank that tax cheque the EU made them charge companies such as Microsoft etc ?.
  19. And what are these raft of benefits you seem to presume they all claim?. Or are you hinting the feckless baby breeding types ?. Which I definitely agree should be limited to two kids, any more and it's no more additional benefits.
  20. Tone, do you not like the fact it's actually true?. They burn shredded tyres to make cement to reduce the amount of natural gas they use. Sources to prove what exactly, it's well known they have variable pitch blades. It's a bit like having a chocolate tea pot and only being able to use it for cold drinks.
  21. The lie is the one the renewable zealots spout, you can't run a world on renewables and then proceed to try and educate me about why they shut down wind turbines when it's too windy!. They are variable pitch, your calculations are pointless, it's the same technology used in aircraft propellors and they work at 500mph. What about the blades and the fact we've been burying them or burning then to co fire cement production!.
  22. In that Frankie Boyle it's a robbery, all that comes to mind is the pulp fiction restaurant scene. So is it Liz, Angela or that daft green screaming it ?
  23. You need base load regardless, you need to be using the renewable to do something such as hydrogen when it's excess.
  24. If you really want to see how much of a cock up the renewable industry is in go have a look at Australia. A country so blessed in sunshine they are facing actual blackouts!
  25. Yeah, the green Germans. Let's close perfectly good nuclear power plants in favour of gas and renewables whilst also burning the most foul polluting coal which is barely even coal it's akin to burning soil/peat!
