  1. You might know this but just in case you don't. You can remove the springs and lift the top roller up and prop it up with a chunk off 4x2 to give you more access.
  2. Yes grab hold with gloves and turn. Mine do so I hope yours do or mine might be frier tucked.
  3. Anyone else I have to get my offer in tomorrow night. Cheers Russ
  4. If you take the hopper off you can tickle the rollers up without removing them.
  5. The old ones have the bracket built in. The newer plastic ones have a galv bracket bolted to them you will need this bracket or you could knock some up yourself.
  6. Ok boys I need a bit of advice can you let me know the sort of money I should pay for a timberwolf Tw 150 it's a 2008 model with 560 hours coming from a large hire company with very little work done it has been sat at the back of there shed for the last year and has not been out on hire for ages it looks brand new with hardly a mark on it. It is going to auction but I can grab it first if I make him a good offer. What would be its resale if I brought it and decided to get rid of it straight away cheers Russ.
  7. Will make a defender axles look like there made out of cocktail sticks.
  8. Forget the questions, get them to do a three day trial, see who turns up on time and who grafts. You will learn nowt about them in an interview.
  9. That blokes a bloody legend. I'd give him a job any day. Reminds me of me 10 years ago.
  10. Working out how many hours you get out of a set of teeth is only any good if you charge buy the hour. I just keep a check on when I put a new set on the machine and add up how many quid I have done with that machine when I put another set in.
  11. Yep tracked all the way. Once you go track you'll never go back.
  12. Yep the greenteeth the cost to set up a sharpening system could be about£200 so you may find it not cost effective, have you thought about running the900 teeth? The cutting edge is a lot bigger and on my machines lasted a lot longer than the 700 but I don't know if bandit would recommend them on your machine the hp could be a bit low it would be nice if you could get one set of 900 and try them talk to dean at global I am not sure if they both fit the same holders.
  13. This one is not the attachment they have made it as a dedicated grinder, does not have the lifting arm or any quick hitch just the grinder head fixed straight on.
  14. I used one many times in oz when my own machine was waiting on a new part. It is a funny machine that you really need to think about it is only25 hp and lacks any real power so for big stumps it is crap,so you can use it for smaller stuff, but the problem is it's to big to compare it to the smaller machine. In the USA it will probably be ok but in the uk you will struggle to get it through a gate, and if you have a big gate then you would be better off with a bigger machine. The cutting head is set at a funny angle and it sweeps across the stump in a real funny way. But it has a major benefit---- it is bloody cheap they were selling them in oz for $ 18,000 with a free trailer I know at least 3 lads that ordered them on the spot when told of the price.
  15. To sharpen,or not sharpen, you need to do your sums on the time it is going to take you. As for toxic dust you are a bit mixed up there the teeth do not give off anything harmfull it is a green grit wheel or silicone carbide wheel that gives off the dust as you do the sharpening, nowadays most use a diamond wheel that does not contain anything nasty, and if anyone is still useing a green wheel they are living in the dark ages. As for taking a long time I can do a set of 12 teeth in the time it takes me to drink a small bottle of beer, which is what I normally do when I am sharpening.
  16. Make sure you get a pair that are comfy with your spikes on. You will wear them quite a bit.
  17. Do you sharpen them? Do you think your machine has the grunt to run the 900 series if so you will get so much more out of a set I find the 700 wear so quickly I used to run three machines one with the7's one with the9's and one with the 11's the 7's wear really fast. If you only get 12 hours out of a set that is a very large operating cost.
  18. It's nice to do something different for a change isn't it:thumbup1: I have just spent the last couple of years out in oz doing cliff face work. Love smashing it of and seeing it disintegrate as it hits the floor.
  19. Smashing job. How come all the windows were boarded up? Was that the insurance company.
  20. Some of the best editing I have seen. The first link I have done hope it works.
  21. The only mistake will be if you come back. We came back a year ago and now we are selling up again to go back out. On a different note are you taking your decompaction gear. Have you looked into the no dig excavation method that they use over there it is turning into big business.
  22. Can you borrow a trailer and then just use a small hand winch and a couple of planks. Easy peasy.
