  1. Arbor Image based in the Northwest. Run by a top bloke who travelled and worked around the world for many years before returning home to Tassie. It's an amazing place, definitely worth a look!
  2. Now is a good time to send some applications, I've seen many companies in Stockholm seeking climbers in the last week. You'll find work easily enough.
  3. Hi all Experienced Climber available for the next 5-6 weeks whilst I am between contracts. Located in the East Mids but willing to travel. I've just returned to The UK after working in Tasmania. Very competent climber in all aspects of tree work. I'll turn up on time and do what is required of me. Own PPE and Climbing equipment. Truck and trailer licence too if that is a requirement. References are available on request. [email protected] 07514836411
  4. Hi Ant! How have you been getting on with the job search? I'm also planning a move to BC later this year. I'm just trying to work out the best way to do it. I got put on a waiting list for the working holiday visa so that's not looking likely to happen. Any helpful info would be appreciated Cheers, Allan.
  5. If you want to work in Australia the best thing to do is get out here and start looking for a job, it's pretty easy to find work, I was employed within a week. Try not to arrive in the middle of summer, you will struggle with the heat. Get your visa sorted then book a flight.
  6. No worries mate, I will be in Melbourne before January so give me a shout when you are headed over Sent from my GT-I9505 using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. Pay for extra baggage, it's far cheaper than buying anything here. I don't know about shipping. The company I work for in WA orders all their gear from Honey Brothers in the UK because it's so expensive here.
  8. I'm in Western Australia right now so can only speak for what it's like here. I came over in May to avoid starting work in the heat right away. A lot of climbers here wear chainsaw pants but they are not compulsory, same goes for chainsaw boots. Most work is done from EWPs when possible. The winter days here are still around 23 degrees. I'm heading over east in October.
  9. I arrive in Perth on May 1st, send me your number and I will give you a call when I get there.
  10. Hi bud, You had any luck finding work yet? I'm also heading to Perth at the end of April, Don't have any work set in stone but I have a few ideas. How was Cairns? Probably see you over there mate. Allan
  11. Yeah, Combined with a RW it works fine on SRT.
  12. Meindl Airstreams are a good boot, comfortable straight out of the box. I've had mine for a year now and they have held up well. Comfortable with spikes, nice and slim compared to my old Haix. As long as you don't mind the bright red trim!
  13. You made the right choice mate! I've also only been climbing for a year and once in a while there's job I'm not 100% sure about. I just explain to the boss and we work it out, it's never a problem.
  14. Cheers for the help, much appreciated!
  15. Cheers TTP, I think it's the same in Aus just not sure.
