  1. Customer liked them enough to have us run them down both sides of the drive instead of just a hard edge to stop the drive crumbling into the ditch. Seem to be keeping our landscape lads very busy:)
  2. Nothing wrong with a kangoo for arb work
  3. I cant say how many days a year they work but I can assure you that is the rate and if you want them you need to book well in advance, they make £120 a day climbers look very expensive Bob
  4. Thats another story but as Deliabodge pointed out there is a shortage. Decent contract climbers can top £250 a day around here, non to shabby for a guy working out of the back of a car with £1,500 worth of clobber. Bob
  5. Inch thick winch mount/deflector to protect front axle inch gap between any part of cage and cab.
  6. A fair bit of thought needs to go into guarding, belly plates need to be designed to allow access to service items down both sides of the trans/engine and be strong enough to support the full weight of the tractor/implements. Most tractors only have three locations to hang the bellyplates/cages, the rear axle, the lugs on the gearbox under the front of the cab and the front. When building the cage you need to be mindful that it needs to stand completely independently of the rubber mounted cab, any tabs or lugs connecting the cage to the cab will cause problems unless isolated with rubber mountings. Bob
  7. Dan get the correct part number then give wood autos a call. I am not 100% sure but its possibly this one , its worth having an account because there are discounts to be had. This is their full rrpWood Auto Supplies Ltd :: STR80140 Bob
  8. My original batch of four from over ten years ago are still with me and if I need more I only have to ask. Bob
  9. Not spoiled for choice around here, I have had to use foreign labour for years. Not through an agency though. Bob
  10. ........and employ someone Bob

  12. An ology, [ame] [/ame]
  13. 9x3 timbers bolted and perched onto 3x3 stakes, stakes and boards surrounded with shingle, pipes from the shingle bed to the ditch every 30mts, permeable topping and surface water not caught by the drainage ends up in the grips further down the lane.Works well:thumbup1: Bob.
  14. Just a few pics of a forest track we are doing atm. 9x3 timber edge milled on our mizer on site and creosoted ( yeah I know ) sub base and road planings. This one will be about a quarter of a mile when finished. More snaps to follow. Bob
  15. I dont recall sending ours up your way Steve I am not posting a pic of ours because it will be put to shame by Johns ( gray git) Bob
  16. I will dig out one of the soft spots Marcus and see what`s lurking below Bob
  17. Cheers NJ I think thats a good place to start and I will give Helen a call. As others have suggested we need to get the grid reference, identify and locate the source . Without some expert help here we could end up digging around all over the place. I was there today looking at some of the spoils the lads have been levelling out from other excavations on site , there seems to be a mixture of claggy grey clay/sandy gear in the mix. For sure its an underground source but whether its an underground stream, running sand or springs is beyond me. Bob
  18. Richie I reckon he felled that with a blunt breadknife and explosives, I see no claret on the floor and assume no one was killed so he can have a very generous two out of ten Bob
  19. So you are sceptic about the septic then Village? A bit more info, there are no soakaways, watermains, septic tanks and there is no hard standing run off onto this area. These wet spots are randomly dotted about , there have been previous attempts to dig them out and fill with hardcore but they seem to pop up elsewhere. The ground is sandy with small scalping sized sandstone mixed in which in the main drains well. I too was thinking springs but would there be this many? Bob
  20. A client has a lawn that`s on quite a steep hill which is predominantly hard ground that is high and dry. There are several wet spots of around a metre square that are so soft you could end up waist deep if you stood there long enough, unless he drives his mower over these area`s flat out he ends up digging it out. I need to engineer a solution so am looking for ideas, has anyone here had any experience of this? clock the vid. Bob [ame] [/ame]
  21. YES Bob
  22. Still have a few sticks in the yard Big J, worth bearing in mind if you want to top up a load going north. Bob
  23. I think what dent is on about Al is the seven pin Suzie plug on trucks vs the seven "N" type used on cars. Trucks "24N, 24S, ISO 7638, Truck Trailer connection pin-outs Cars Wiring diagrams for 7 pin 12N 'N' type trailer lights caravan towbar tow bar plugs sockets Bob
  24. Thats a brilliant idea Pete but if the pneumatic tyres were anything like the crap I purchased off the bay of thieves you will probably end up changing them for the solid ones. My drag about yard box tyres always seemed to be punctured or flat; Not now
