It would seem that the truck is pumping way to much fluid John. The mewp will have a manufacturers recommended flow rate and pressure, I would check this against the tag on your PTO pump. If the pump is run off the transfer box run it in a different gear on the gearbox, if its a gearbox driven pump you are stuffed and will have to find another pump. Bob

Managed to get a bit more done, body back on , electrics connected, doors back on and gapped. Just need to pull the stickers off and get a fresh coat of paint on it. All the lights were a bit shot so bought new, £120 for every light unit on there including new headlights

We have both and on that distance I would go for the wheeled dumper. They are a lot faster and will manage ok on the sticky stuff. If its a quagmire the slower tracked dumper wins, they both have their place . High tip is useful. Bob

Kinnel its not a council job Eg6s its forestry . Sandbags filled with concrete , raked back and pinned. Sump on each end of the pipe and a steel grate on the inlet of the pipe to keep crap out , all the water is running over sandstone so pretty solid base to the ditches. . Sandbags wont be doing anything by the time the ground behind them consolidates . Bob

The lads renewed app 160 mts of these gurt 1mtr dia land drainage pipes under some roads and across a field. 6mts deep at the end so sandbagged/pinned up to about 3mts and raked the ground back on top. Also doing a bout a 100mts of bank reinstatement/retention around a lake with gabions And a 13mtrx10mtr factory extension base + sewage treatment plant. Having a bit of a run on these @eggsarascal this is the fifth one this year.

Its really not a problem, you can register any plant and machinery to go on the road. I have seen registered road rollers, tracked excavators , tracked dumpers, wheeled dumpers, cranes and the list just goes on. The most important thing is safety, it really does need to steer and stop. Lights etc are not that important and for daytime use not obligatory but if you fit them they must work https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/daytime-running-lights/daytime-running-lights Bob

There is nothing to stop you registering one as an "ag machine" and trundling down the road with it. As with anything ag there are restrictions like no motorways, 360 flashing lights on dual carriageways and max speeds . I move one for a guy on occasion and they are a ballache on the low loader because of the height ( 16` all up on my setup) , journey needs planning a bit around bridges etc but thats nothing to the tree damage caused once you start beating your way down overgrown country lanes to a site . Jesus thats thin, I can remember when they were abut two inches thick (50mm for the kids) . If all the tree surgeons in your area did advertise in there Steve it would probably still be two inches thick Bob

I think you can tell what a climber is all about by the time they have got their kit on and are standing at the bottom of a tree. There is an air of confidence about someone thats good at their job, its not to be confused with just being cocky. Bob

I have just bought four forty footers to poke in the corner of the yard, they seem to have a a coating on the inside which stops condensation, maybe all the newer containers are already done . I bought some granules that you mix in the paint that supposedly stops condensation, going to try it on my other containers and will report back. Forming a u shape with these so the two back ones are put down door to doors and the only way in is through roller shutter cut into the sides courtesy of Mick Dundee.

Petrol/diesel all starts off the same, the cheap gear is as refined and goes off to supermarkets etc . The likes of Shell and the other big players blend theirs with additives which is why they are dearer. The crap car killer stuff was just a mistake and I think the big boys have had similar problems in the past . Where the fuck is Jon from @Rye Oil Ltd `s when you need him ? Bob -
I use this stuff in all the machines with tubeless tyres whether they have a puncture or not, if they go down with this gear in its normally because of a tear. Good insurance ? Bob

Timber hauliers are nomadic feckers so best just have a phone around and see who has trucks in your area, they may well be from the north but available. Decent site access both ends and a reasonably short run should not set you back more than £400 a load. Net weights will depend on the truck/crane combo and the drivers porn stash in the cab. Bob

You dont have to be the whole 20% dearer just because you are vat registered , in reality being vat registered is going to drop your overheads slightly because you will be claiming back on quite a large portion of your out goings. You would probably not be out of pocket if you only upped your prices by 10-15% and I doubt if you clients would even notice that. Bob
