  3. If you personally own all of the machinery and hire it back to your company, its then all covered on the "hired in plant insurance". Bob
  4. 13 vehicles seized in major Essex and Herts police operation | Herts & Essex Observer And more to come Bob
  5. I think you will find the problem is with the broker and not the insurer. Any of them will insure a tipper if they know what they are insuring, on any of our non standard kit like cherry pickers or tippers on 4x4`s our broker just asks for a photo. Job done, and thats with Allianze who are not that accommodating. Bob
  6. Thats a rip off. The 6 way distribution blocks are £9.50 The fittings are £1.50 each x12 £18.00 Pipe is £1.50 per mtr max of 10 £15 These are up to date lubeline prices Bob
  7. Lubeline Lubeline, lubrication systems, lubrication products, specialists, Lubrication equipment, lubrication engineers, Sheffield, UK fittings http://www.lubeline.co.uk/Downloads/Interlube%20Fittings.pdf Worth looking at the auto greasers as well, fit and forget:thumbup1: Bob
  8. Aside of the housing the bearing itself is slightly different, note the groove and hole in the greaseable unit compared to the sealed one, the sealed one wont grease. Its probably easier to just change both parts, while your at it fit the flexi tubes to them so the grease nipples end up somewhere accessible. 9. Dust cover got ripped off the bellhousing on the Foden and a load of crud got dragged round the flywheel and tore the gear off the starter:thumbdown: And another guard got ripped off Because of this man.
  10. The Fast track mower took a hiding on a grass cutting job when it found some concrete. It bent the shaft where its welded into the drum , down about 15mm which made it vibrate like hell and throw the belts off Managed to straighten it with a 50ton hydraulic air jack and chain. Got the shaft to within half a mm which seems to have done the trick. Took a whole day though of tweeking and measuring. Bob
  11. I agree but when selling timber the question does get asked and answers are needed. Bob
  12. I purchased a cheapy like this [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/diy/dp/B0036PSX0K]Moisture Meter - Moisture Detector for wood, building materials (screed, concrete, wall) and other materials - With switch button to select material: Amazon.co.uk: DIY & Tools@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41oGRJ7YzVL.@@AMEPARAM@@41oGRJ7YzVL[/ame] which is used a general moisture meter, it gives a reading in just about anything so I assumed for example when its poked into a damp wall its measuring between the probes as a percentage its water content. When I find it I will give it a swimming lesson and let you know the reading. Bob
  13. We mix 800ml in 20ltrs of fuel and it goes in everything. I know its over the top but we genuinely have never had any engine issues. Bob
  14. We are still using Carlube oil with no issues, normally batch mixed in a 20ltr jerry can and dispensed from that. The only problems we have ever had are when the lads try to guesstimate a part fill/mix or mistakenly run a saw on the grinders fuel. I have only heard of horror stories using this oil, never witnessed any so believe most failures are down to incorrect mixes. Still under £10 a gallon Bob
  15. Could you not check calibration by dipping the end in water? Bob
  16. Some of Clyde`s stuff. [ame] [/ame]
  17. keruing costs a fortune, £1500 for enough to re lay the bed of the low loader. From some weird foreign country £7.50 per mtr for 6x1 Bob
  18. The hundred cube walking floor trailers carry 30 ton of chip if brimmed. Thats with a mixed bag or cord and arb waste. 30 ton of cord takes up much less space. Bob
  19. I would go along with UTV advice, those Britax ones on the bowser have done a five year watering contract on the motorway where they have been on for eight hours a day five days a week . Still good. Bob
  20. Weld a big washer onto the head of the screw, then weld a big nut to the washer and they will come straight out. Half an hour tops for the lot. The heat will destroy the locktite or rust and they will just unscrew. Same method as this http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/maintenance-help/83747-broken-stud-repair-2.html Bob
  21. My late father was a session player ( rent a drummer ) Jazz and big band . Back in the day they could read music and frowned upon skinbashers in pop groups There were always premiers set up in the spare room. Two of my brothers and one sister have musical talent but unfortunately for me no musical genes were passed down I blame him for my strange taste in music like Clyde Stubblefieds Funky drummer and Maceo Parker [ame] [/ame] [ame] [/ame] [ame] [/ame]
  22. Placement of these is important. Regs say visible 360 degrees, on the watering bowser the cab mounted led was slightly lower than the filling neck of the tank on the back so they made us fit an extra beacon on the rear. Some transits would have the same problem if fitted with a chip box. Bob
  23. This diesel vs petrol thing is not rocket science. Modern diesels running under full throttle use roughly the same air fuel ratio as a petrol at around 14.1 , the biggest difference is at idle or low revs when the petrol is still running roughly 14.1 air fuel ratio but the diesel can be as low as 150.1 . A diesel can be in stop start traffic for hours and use virtually no fuel whereas the petrol will drink gallons of the stuff. This is why folk with a light foot that dont rev the granny out of an engine can get these mpg figures. GM v8 6.2 diesel at idle has a fuel consumption of a third of a gallon an hour, see how long a third of a gallon will last in a v8 petrol at idle. Bob
  24. Brilliant The difference is she has been given the chance and stepped up to the task so good on you StihlBen. Bob
  25. A position for a full time machine driver ( 3ton 360, dumper, trenching machines etc) to work along side our landscape guys. Tickets and cscs needed. Bob
