  13. Recycled plastic made into planks is good. Sustainable recycled plastic products - Lankhorst Recycled Products UK Ltd // Products > Marine engineering > Plastic jetties & landing stages
  14. Just maybe this is a Husqvarna product built to a price and intended to be sold in an emerging market? My local Pound shop has loads of branded goods on sale cheaper than locally produced stuff, so the label on my Nescaffe coffee is in Greek, it's still Nescaffe.
  15. I carry a note book computer and a smart phone and someone recommended installing a security program such as Prey in case it is stolen Prey Anti Theft: Track & find stolen Phones, Tablets and Laptops Looking at the web site it works by telling you the location and can take photos of whoever uses the kit.
  16. That's inflation for you, it was only £90 last year and will be £92 next year!
  17. Was once working with a tarmac planning machine taking the wearing coat off the top of a concrete road section and some numpty had put the lighting cable in the expansion joint rather than dig a trench across the concrete road section. Big bang when we hit it!!
  18. I have a small woodland and am thinking of putting a shed on it, but I want something better than a shed, something reasonably well insulated so me and the wife can sleep over as and when, make brews and the odd meal or two. Any suggestions, suppliers etc.
  19. Have you searched online for grants? Lantra have funds for training, also search for charitable trusts, many have money they give to young people to help with training, some money is free and others give interest free loans, to be paid back after you do the training and are earning.
  20. So he may have used a false name, maybe not, if he were from 100 miles away who would'nt he use his real name, then if you ask for ID he'll have it. Ask yourself would you note down details from his ID? I'd guess you just look at the photo and give it back. The rest of his details may also be fake, but we do know he used e-mail, phone, ebay account and a vehicle in this theft!? If he registered with E-bay his account details may contain an address, phone numbers, e-mail accounts, all or some of them may be false, but he used some means of comunication to contact the OP and who knows even this snippit of information may help identify the guy. The more information that is shared about this guy and his methods the better. And NO theft is not funny !!
  21. Link to photos - Timberwolf woodchipper wood chipper TR150V STOLEN STOLEN STOLEN | eBay I assume the Police are involved? You say the contact was via Ebay, do they have details of the buyer? Did you have CCTV of the guy, reg number of the towing vehicle? Is the guy here amongst this lot - https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Brian+Price&cr=countryUK|countryGB&safe=off&client=firefox-beta&hs=z5d&sa=X&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&tbs=ctr:countryUK|countryGB&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ei=U-kBUo2jNoODhQeZ7oCABA&ved=0CGgQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=899
  22. You need to go to your local library and ask if they have a list of local charitable trusts. You then need to look at the fund granting criteria of each trust and write to those who fund training, some of the grants will be small (up to £250) and some come in the form of intrest free grants that need to be repaid at some point. There if nothing to stop you applying to more than 1 trust. Recent examples I've been involved with are, a local trust that provides up to £250 to young people who live within a particular parish, in another a relative got a £5k loan over 5 years to help them set up in business. May also be worth talking to your local further education provider to see if they know of any training grants available. This one may be worth a call -- Charitable Trust | Institute of Chartered Foresters & Arboriculturists
  23. These type of clauses can be standard in some sectors, a mate of mine changed jobs recently and got a solicitor s letter after he left reminding him of the fact. So being an honourable chat did nothing to poach customers, 6 months down the line and nothing but word of mouth about 80% of is old bosses customers now use him rather than his boss. Mind you his boss was a plonker!
  24. I was thinking of going for a softwood timber frame for the main house with a partial oak frame, maybe in the main lounge area and the bedroom above so as to keep the amount used fairly modest (along with the price!).
  25. Should have said I'm in Cumbria, so ideally I'm looking at a fairly local supplier (within 60 miles), but am willing to travel if the price is right!
