  1. You buy some 5mm round bar and some 25x3mm flat strip and weld it up out of that.
  2. Cut them up on a bandsaw and show the figuring on them and they would sell on eBay as handle blanks.
  3. I'll have 3 at £170 each please. No make it 4, blow the expense
  4. The CDi is a capacitor discharge ignition (coil) on the other end of the HT lead bolted next to the flywheel under the starter cord side of the saw. If the spark is weak it may not be jumping the plug gap under pressure. Try warming the plug with a blow lamp and put a spoon of fuel straight down the plug hole and stick it together quick then pull it over no choke just to see if the spark is working, it should fire over a few times.
  5. Can't have cost much, you're talking about a bloke who wouldn't spend money on a splined screwdriver for carb adjusters here

    Stihl 881?

Did one of them have to run backwards ?
  7. It will be electronic ignition with a cdi module (£43 from McCulloch) so it will not have a condenser. Doubtful if it will be that if you have a spark.
  8. I have a Husqvarna 135 similar saw and I bought a splined driver for about £6. It's hardly sneak tactics you can adjust them with a Biro stem or an electrical connector on the end of a flat screwdriver or take the screws out and cut a slot in them.
  9. Does that mean brave men climb with wet ropes and no trousers
  10. I like Mumford they make some good and varied music, nice listening.
  11. It's average, What makes it a classic ?
  12. Watch out for the spring when you take the lever out. They are sneaky little beggars.
  13. We had our first Peacock butterfly yesterday sunning itself on the patio table and we saw a couple of Meadow brown as well which are the first on here this year.
  14. Yes but whatever you do don't switch it on Hang it up and stick a fan on to blow it dry if you need it dry sooner than it will dry naturally.
  15. Do they come with the lo pro chain as standard ? They do look like they mean business. Do they repel dirt better than other saws, I've never seen a dirty one yet
  16. Time this thread died or was moved to a relevant forum. Is there a slanging match forum on the site ?
  17. I looked at this and wondered if they had a chart when I was born and still not sure but found that Frankie Laine was the best seller with I Believe, June 1952
  18. I typed a reply to this but it sounded discouraging but here goes anyway. A friend of mine had a Homelite saw given him and it would only run flat out. I tried adjusting the carb but it made no difference apart from stopping it from running altogether. It was not worth pursuing any further so I just got it back to running flat out and it got thrown in the back of his shed. Screw the tick over screw in to speed it up then set the H and L screws to about one and a quarter turns out from shut then re-adjust the tick over. I had to take some limiters off his and the screw heads were pac man type I think.

    old old saw

What metal is it made of and how much does it weigh ? Collectors will pay for original equipment but it's finding the market. If it's sentimental value you can't put a price on it. edit:- it will not run as it is there is no HT lead on it.
  20. You just change the "soft headed fools" to "discerning customers" and they will sell like hot cakes
  21. You say Gary and Sue work together, it's probably a con by the two of them to screw you over for compensation. How is their company doing? You have to think deeper about this. Conspiracy theorist at work here.
  22. I only got 9 in the time allotted and 4 of those were cabbage whites. I've deliberately waited till the Buddleia flowered as well as that usually draws quite a few in. Peacock butterflies are completely absent this year.
  23. It's the last day for the butterfly count today, I did it yesterday while I sat reading in the garden and was surprised how few were around compared to last year.
  24. They give him a good discount to put it back on again
  25. You need more PPE, a mask as well as the Hi-viz should do the trick.
