Was the 236 oil pump still working ? You can get a new Chinese saw for £60 on eBay or gumtree and someone must break them for spares or you can get a pump delivered from Hong Kong for £4.27 including post via eBay.
  2. I think the angle grinder would have been out here
  3. I had a Poplar trunk chopping block on the yard for a couple of years and it turned to mush eventually. I split what was left of it and threw it on the wood pile and it dried into something like coarse grained Balsa wood with no weight in it at all.
  4. I was digging some out at home a few years ago and used a sharpened spade but I was in B&Q later and spotted a mattock for about £15 and thought it looked handy. It was worth the money just to use it, really made the job easier and brought a smile to my face whacking it through the roots.
  5. Didn't someone have a bad experience importing a grinder or chipper to France ? Are prices higher over on the Continent to make it worth doing ? Probably a second hand machine of which dealers don't know the history is not an inviting prospect as they get comebacks if things go wrong. Unless you are letting it go for a low price it is not always an attractive proposition for a dealer as they need to cover all eventualities.
  6. They fell off the back of a lorry (that's why three were broken) It's an English saying MM it means they came from a suspicious source.
  7. I've got a wardrobe that shrinks clothes, they fitted when I put them in there and now they are a bit tight on the waist

My life feels empty now as I don't have a manual oiler pushy button There's one on ebay £450 with no bids. What kind of spare parts are you looking for, do you want to repair your saw or are you building one on the cheap ?
  9. That's because nobody will lend him a mincer
  10. Have you got an adjustable pump ? It sounds like you need to turn it down a bit.
  11. You're not supposed to touch them without a permit. Go and hand yourself in right away We found some at my daighter's when they filled in the pond and we had to wait ages for them to put themselves in a jar to be moved up the road.
  12. Hire a big skip for the job and let the customer pay for it. You can get a 10 cubic yard for £200.
  13. As long as the dog doesn't do the same you're alright I suppose
  14. I bet that works even better for defrosting
  15. What are cylinder head bearings please ?
  16. 32°c in the greenhouse on the back garden. it's cooling down now the sun is dropping below the horizon about 19°c.
  17. So much emotion, I was overcome. I so wanted the last one to have a little helicopter or something and it turned out to be a yamulke but a very nice one though. I have enjoyed the series and will not let the nay sayers spoil my enjoyment.
  18. I'm not on facebook but I still like you I'm same age as Stubby so don't get worried Adam
  19. Who's going to start the collection
  20. Make sure it's the top half and not the bottom half Mark you don't want this happening.
  21. If I did have golfer's elbow I wouldn't admit to it in case anyone thought I play golf. I had injections for tennis elbow years ago but the only thing that helped was not doing what caused it which is not usually an option for most. A lot of "experts" frown on bandages and straps as causing more problems than they cure. I used to find the bag of frozen peas or corn was good for relief when it got painful.
  22. Nice, a penguin egg It had already started to hatch as well. And a useful touch up set. Can't wait for episode 4
  23. I thought it was a Witches broom like you get in the Birch trees, honest. I catapulted one a few years back trying to get some Wrens that were nesting in the Clematis down the garden. If you get one the others come to see what happened. I watched one trying to get into a conifer with collared doves nesting in it and the doves just flew straight into them like battering rams.
  24. At a foundry I worked in one of the blokes used to ring in every so often and always used the excuse that his wife had fallen downstairs and broken her leg. The gaffer asked him after the fifth time if he was married to a spider and whether he'd considered taking the stairs out and fitting a slide instead.
  25. Used a couple of tanks of Aspen in the 135 today and it's going really well. I had to tweak the L screw originally but now it starts without using fast idle when warm which it would not do on petrol mix. It just got put away as it was but I'll clean it tomorrow and top up the bar oil and it will be fine till next time.
