  1. I own Husqvarna, Stihl (saws) and Electrolux (cooker). I have a Honda and a Kawasaki as well. It's a lot cheaper to produce, repair or replace a plastic part.
  2. Air getting in somewhere or someone has tried running it weak on the H screw to get more revs out of it.
  3. My memory gets better as I get older, it's so good I now remember things that never happened and if you can't find the butter try looking in the microwave
  4. Yes but if you have to ask you can't afford her

    My accident

Drink lots of lemon juice and other acidic beverages and you could be on to something, powering a battery with some kind of electrolytic reaction running an electric motor to drive the wheels.
  6. You could use a few strands of something thinner to make up a stronger resistance. Theraband flat or tubing gives good results on catapults and is available in different grades.
  7. Put the part number into Google 1145 007 1802 and it comes up with diyspares site. This thread shows what's in the kit posted by someone in Australia.
  8. I found rough brown box cardboard works well as an indicator of how much oil is coming off the chain as the stain darkens when it soaks in.
  9. Common sense is a very rare commodity
  10. Are you asking for opinions or cold hard facts ? They are both good firewood home-owner saws but your avatar looks like you will be putting them to different use. I don't have a 435 but I have a 135 and a friend of mine has a 181. I prefer mine and he prefers his but they both get the job done on a 14" bar. 435 runs 15" bar .325 chain instead of 3/8" if that makes any difference to the choice.

    Here we go.
  12. Sit on the branch and cut to the tree side Wiley Coyote stylee
  13. There'll be a picture of a 540 with a broken handle appearing shortly
  14. It's a good strong roof if it will hold a Mercedes Vito eggs
  15. £250 sounds a lot for an old saw as well. 038 magnum running saw finished on ebay the other day for £74.
  16. Swifts and Swallows were flying round yesterday but it's a different day today with low cloud and they will have gone somewhere warmer to hunt I think. I watched a documentary about them a few years ago and some Swallows were fitted with trackers. When the weather was bad here they left the young ones in the nest and were found flying over Holland.
  17. First saw I bought, Machine Mart Dynamac with a 16" bar and the cutters were like that. It's never caused a problem.
  18. There's vat to add on the JCB mower as well which I'm sure is against ebay rules.
  19. I doubt if the trailer is stolen, most likely he only stole some photographs of a trailer
  20. I bought an early Stihl 036, probably about the same era as the 028. It is different to the later 036 as it has no decompression valve but I recently saw a Stihl 034av super which looks identical to my 036, same capacity and everything. Why would they make two different models so alike ?
  21. Yellow hi viz fleeces are only £14 from sports direct via ebay and Screwfix has vests for £3.99 in orange or yellow.
  22. I asked about alternative chain for 171 for a friend of mine as his seem to blunt very quickly and came to the conclusion that he should have bought a 181 instead so he could use better chain as the picco micro chain does tend to blunt quickly on not so clean firewood. One tip when you sharpen the chain on the bar is to tighten it so it doesn't rock then slacken it off again after.
  23. Mine's not a Stihl but I bought a couple of cheap Ozaki chains on eBay and have had no problem with them, they keep a good edge and have not gone slack prematurely or anything. I bought 5 litre of Husqvarna mineral chain oil locally for £15 and it will last me ages. Oregon oil should be fine in any saw with a working pump.
  24. Russian vine is virulent stuff it killed a whole blackberry plantation we used to pick a few years ago. Honeysuckle grows in a hawthorn hedge I walk by and it never seems to do it any harm and it's been growing through it for a few years now untouched.

    Cuckoo

I remember when I was a young lad my dad was a keen ornithologist and used to go out bird nesting. He took me to see a Reed Warbler nest he had found which had a Cuckoo egg in it. Apparently they are popular with Cuckoos.
