  3. I have this lovely wood and need to seal the cut ends as I don't want it to split as I'm going to make a bowl out of it. wax won't stick to it, just comes straight off, it is quite wet though. what can I use? also dose any one have any idea what it is?? it looks to me like some sort of Hawthorne type.
  4. Fiskars x27 is a fantastic axe Ian
  5. I have Petzl Sequioa harness too, it's the old one, the new one looks nice!!
  6. IMHO to me rope is rope but a harness is personal and how it feels to you, try a few before you buy a harness, there not cheap if you buy one you don't find comfy. I can't imagine nothing worse than having to spend 2 maybe more hours hanging 25 meters up in a tree in a harness that feels like it's screwing you in the wrong'un Ian
  7. another iPhone user getting the same problem having a watch posted videos in a browser cos app not playing ball Ian

  17. I'm a believer of SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and yeah the past few weeks I've felt crap and very grumpy cos I can't get on. the dull, wet, miserable weather dose affect us all in some way or another whether we realise it or not. Ian
  18. it's just awesome!
  19. love the theakstons brewery at masham. old perculier on draught is lovely double maxim Cameron's strong arm magnet tetleys imperial all have to be hand pull draught, non of this electric pump crap. Ian
  20. there is platinum in cats isn't there? they always been pinched, weld a pipe in and get your motor re mapped to make sure the air fuel mix is right, will run better, might be a pain at mot time unless you got a de cat friendly mot tester, there plenty about though
  21. I hate wearing any sort of gloves for chainsaw use, I feel I have more grip in wet conditions, I know and can feel when there is muck and grime on my hands, I have more feel for what the saw is doing. all this is taken away with wearing gloves, when wet they become slippy you have less feel and make your hands cold. defo no gloves for me unless I'm moving brash or handling something rough. general ground use, a good pair of thick leather gloves. Ian
  22. you kidding right? haha love it or hate it, guess the saying is true, I hate the bloody stuff

  24. not very subtle but effective why do you ring bark a tree? to make it dead standing?? will make good firewood.
  25. now that you posted that, the lad I did my cs39 with did the same. good idea if you dont mind being too hot. I get hot very quick so doing that would kill me.
