  3. Hi Jon, Mine don't seem any different on a 20 than what it is on 18. still feels to pull the same, I've been felling some big hardwoods with it. I do sharpen more often on 20 to keep it really sharp. ian Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. I love my 560, use full chisel chains, run 15, 18 & 20" bars, pulls all of them fine. Got a 8 pin sprocket and a 12" bar for softwoods, cuts like a demon Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. I will happily burn softwood, I just close fire down a bit more than usual! I'll even come and take away any softwood that people don't want. Those that say 'oh I only burn hardwood' are daft in my opinion Woods wood at the end of the day, yes I know hardwood is supposed to burn better etc but if softwood is cheap enough in comparison, what's the difference?? 8. I found my 540 a bugger to tension right... I have to leave mine slightly looser so when I fully tighten the nut it tightens it's slightly more, strange trying to allow for that. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  20. I'm after some different types of wood with good grain, feature and contrast to each other, it's for my dad, he likes making stuff. I'm after some redwood, acacia, yew, ebony, and some cherry. I'm not after anything massive or looking to spend a fortune, I will happily offer some beer tokens for it and cover postage if it's the right size and too far to collect. It's a long shot but worth asking, some one might have some they don't want. Thanks Ian Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

    Hi-lift wedges

the plastic shaft is my 4th and well worth the price. I've smashed a new wooden one with in minutes of putting it in and the down time of replacing them makes it well worth the price. you can lash 7 bells out if the plastic shaft like I have done and you can see by the pic it's hardly phased it!! I can't stress enough that to get the smashed wooden shafts out don't waste your time drilling and burning..... turn the alloy wedge on it's side, give it a good firm hit with a hammer and the wooden bit comes clean out!! In the field use a stump, at home use a vice. simples ian Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
