  2. there used to be a green waste site(at the scape yard) on the hanbury rd, heading towards stoke prior just the ewe and lamb PH
  3. Lots of people don't have either, but if you or your staff have any issues how do you prove that your staff are competent and trained to use the machinery
  4. wow great debate, its something I know little on, but by reading your posts, theres some great information great stuff
  5. I would still be aware of what nesting bird it is, some birds have a higher level of protection and may even be European protected to. Cant remember which way round it is, buts there schedule 1 and 2 protected birds.
  6. Think it would depend on the degree of hazard. Check with natural England they would be able to help, but you may have to wait till the they have gone . What birds are nesting, that will make difference to.
  7. Thought with pear once your purchased it, there was no subscription fee
  8. don't think theres been any case where it has been used to date. Theres always a first through
  9. Think maybe there trying it on, you could always contact the planning department at your local LA, they should be able to give you some input. But they wont get involved unless you or your neighbour pay a fee first.
  10. didn't think there was any law on the right to light. May be he's confusing it with the high hedges. I would ask the solicitor what law is being broken and await a response what is the tree and size/distance in question?
  11. is there a reason you need to reduce the rpa? but as already stated if you can back up why you have reduced the rpa you shouldn't have to many problems. You could always try digging a few sample pits to try a determined the size of the rpa.
  12. sounds like a 3.5t transit tipper is the way to go. it weighs 2.4t unloaded, 1 ton of logs = no tacho. I hope any way
  13. Yes there was a few firms involved, the line of sight which subbed out to. The land owner of the mast are paid well, it the people who own land and trees who have nothing to the mast is where the problem starts. Especially when its either LA or someone who didn't want the mast the mast in the first place.
  14. In the past I used to clear for sight line for infer structure firm, who serviced phone masts. I didn't release before undertaking this work, that phone masts have to have a direct line from one mast to another. The problem is that the land owner of the masts doesn't normally object to any tree work, but the person 2 miles down the road who has a tree in there garden or on there land doesn't allows want the tree reducing or removing for the phone mast. They need to plan there location better maybe
  15. which part of the world are you in? not come across witches broom rust. Reading up on it though you could remove the infected branches depending on how wide spread it is. With regards to the decay depending on what your target is (surrounding area) will influence what you decide to do with it, but there isn't a great deal to done about from monitor the decay. It sounds like you have a tall, thin tree?
  16. the body language of trees has been released now to
  17. Hi all does any one own a set of W J bean tree books? just looking at these, I there old now but just wondered if there worth the money. The photos are black and white inside to any thoughts would be great thanks
  18. there was a rep in the uk that used to do that to. I don't hes around either
  19. Yes the tree is marked for removal, the policy is to replant. With regards to putting the kerb right etc that is out of my control. my original question was really relating to managing trees with defects like this. It's been a intresting response and useful response to.
  20. you are quiet right. The LA I work for only likes to take trees out a last resort, but we have to take in other factors, like the location and situation of the tree, the value of the tree and the cost of regular inspection and pollarding. To some degree they want us to bear in mind public relations as well. The LA has limited resource and budget so, even though its surveyed as a removal, tree is risk rated which will related to a time scale so it may not disappear for another 6 months at least. It may sound a strange way but its how they require us to work.
  21. many thanks for all your comments, its sometimes difficult to know what to do for the best. The LA policy is to replant but as you all know the big problem with that is vandals.
  22. re-pollard was option yes, but the amount with the amount decay present think it would only be a short fix, although it would retain the tree for a few more years possibly.
  23. well I inspected it today, I have condemned it. It should be felled shortly. after I submitted the report I did wonder if I should of retained and re inspected, and some of the other limes in that row have been reduce to 1.5m to.(not may recommendations). Just interested to see what other peoples view is really.
  24. Looking at a recent post from David, regarding management of a willow tree which has Laetiporus, I thought see what your thoughts regarding this lime was. It has a large cavity at the base lots of decay present. Further up theres what looks more decay. The tree was pollarded to reduce the risk some years ago(not sure how much decay was present at that stage). Its situated on busy road. Would leave the tree and re inspected next year, or would you take the tree out?
