  1. Hard to tell from the photo. but from a power line point of view, the clearance isn't sufficient (not statuary clearance), and from a safety point of view they would still be concerned even its out side of there statuary clearance. Again hard to tell, but it may require a shut down on the power line. I would interested to see when the tree was last inspected and what has been record for it, hard to say if its unsafe, but given the fact of the large defect, close proximity to the overhead power line, possible high target area in the school, and its not greatest shape I wouldn't have many concerns about removing the tree. No reason why the school and kids cant plant a new tree else?
  2. poplar?? maybe

  4. Flammunlia isn't to much to worry about but armillaria would be a problem for the tree and its location. really grateful for your help and advice
  5. OK great thank you
  6. Hi all not sure if this is armillaria. Did wounder about flammulina or pholiota. There an area at the Base which decayed, old remains present. the fruiting bodies are at 2m on the stem, looks like an old wound, but the bark is lifting.

  13. I have just started my L6 it's still early days but the work load is hard and easy to under estimate. For me L6 is more relative to my work. The down side at the moment is there is a issue with the chartered foresters but I did believe Dave Dowson will resolve the issue.
  14. I use resibond from greentech the seem the cheapest. Depending on your budget and your requirements the precast resibond which sits on a mesh grill is far better but costs a lot more.
  15. I lost my pti cert and because it's was originally issued with an error (they put expiry date on it) I got a new one for free

  18. Hi here, welcome to arbtalk why do you think its dead on 1 side at the base?, and im not convinced that those marking are characteristics of fungi either. Not sure if that is fibre bucking, I haven't seen much to be honest. Is the second stem included? Crown reduction may be the way to go, ideally if you was going to remove it, you would of do so before the fence was done. think a little further investigation may be the way go to try and establish the facts. Be interesting to see other people thoughts ATB Tree
