  1. You don't need permission to work by the power cable, but the area network operator would prefer you to contact them first, as you are working in close proximity to there overhead cable. They can assist you depending on the area your in. Takes time though but its worth making the call. With the TM, think now you have to put the correct highways notice in, so might be easier to pay a TM company to do that all for you
  2. Not sure if trust it

the magic maps website is very useful for checking sssi and national park areas. Sometimes if the farm is in the ELS or HLS payment scheme they don't like trees removed, but if the oaks are dead don't see any problem.
  7. Thanks Chris I will speak with them
  8. Thanks chris, ii will email him. Do you need a reference of a currant member?
  9. Yes I did read some earlier post about the l6 not having enough points. I haven't yet gained l6 but I'm trying to plan ahead. Was going to join the icf, I know I can't join as a professional member until l6 or similar is gained. I was planning on undertaking my l6 diploma with the intention to become chartered.
  10. Hi all Been looking to join the icf. Is the L6 diploma the minimum requirement to become a professional member.
  11. I worked on a tree nursery for some years, as stated keep the roots well wrapped but make sure they don't get frozen to.
  12. hi there, I did the old L3 tech cert, as a online course with Myerscough a few years back. I did find it hard at time, as my job was climbing only. Since gaining my L3 its help me a lot, my main role now is tree surveying with a few bs5837 reports. A lot more companies who employ surveyors seem to look for L3/L4 as a minimum.
  13. I picked the Fungal Strategies of Wood Decay in Trees, a few years back of amazon, on offer for area £30
  14. lol, was fairly certain you could help
  15. Theres a landscape firm in tanworth-in-arden called 'wrights landscapes', I think. they have flails and that sort of machinery, I can dig there number out if it helps
  16. what sought of hedge is it and has it been flailed in the past? also is it road side? I know a couple of local people who help atb tree
  17. Sound like a difficult one. in the past I have removed tpo trees which have been proven to cause damage, mainly to houses but I do remember one, which was a large mature oak, which was LA owned. The roots where damage 4 different houses(mainly rear patios) the house owns worked together and I did go to court, and they won. I know Birmingham city council used to approve rooting pruning on cases like yours, so as already said in earlier posts, that may be worth looking at to

    bs5837

Hi all Think I have it sorted now, I know the offset was in the 2005 and not the new bs. Think by all your posts as long as I can justify and work within the rpa I should be fine ( within reason of course)

    bs5837

a little yes thanks, I will have another look at the project.
  25. Hi all, Can you off set the rpa on a bs5837 report?. I know it was in the old bs, but it doesn't state you can or cant in the latest bs. Just wondering as I recently was asked to carry out a report, but the rpa is with the planned development,(which is a extension to an outbuilding). The old rpa offset would have been enough to make a difference. any help is always greatly welcomed
