1. i have a county with a 7 meter hiab glued on it, get some pictures up later. there could be a problem with slewing as the crane is not designed for it and will brake apart above the main post
2. very good i have a 900 and use it for cutting shingles, no benches came with it though
3. £7000 very expensive for a 2.4m cut. i would go for an old rack mill, cheap as chips and last for years
4. i would be interested in a few loads, could you send me some details and i will be in touch thanks Graham [email protected]
5. bite his arm off:laugh1::laugh1:
6. a 6 feet carbide insert slasher blade 2 gauge (around 6.7mm kerf) will cost £3000 from simmonds international, that will give you a 24 inch + cut you will also need the sharpener, a considerable spindle with heavy bearings (you dont want to mount a quarter ton blade on chinese bearings) and a drive system either v belts or 100 - 150 horsepower hydro motor i know the bearings cost about 600 each [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCs82rOA-AQ&list=UU6K9q_07jmv4l5sUjzLoSMQ&feature=c4-overview]Firewood Processor - commercial high volume - YouTube[/ame] but look at the work it can do!
7. i sold my one on. the new owner powers it with a steam engine
8. i had one of them! it has a hands free power feed so no fingers to loose. it looks ready to work:thumbup1:
9.
hi steve. i cant start a thread and have never been able to, did i miss something when starting my profile?

10. try EF Grant 01807500352 Laurance 07786527650 Tommy Gill 07866777648 / 01309641395 or seafeild parks but i dont have their number.
11. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=An7bP597TLY]Bosch vs DeWalt vs Makita vs Metabo - YouTube[/ame] not the best of tests but shows the battery life
12. I would recommend a metabo. Have 4 been using and abusing them for years, always out preforming the £350 bosch. Our older metabo (£200) has a 10 min charge and that will average 200 two inch screws or 100 four inch screws without pilot holes. The charger recently drowned but started working again after drying. our top spec bosch struggles to drive four inch screws, though the charge was better all 3 batterys have died now one melted its self:confused1: we got the new 18v 5.2 amp metabo combi costing 300 from dm-tools. I regularly drive m12 coach screws, its unbeatable
13. Push Pull for a Hydraulic Cylinder heres an easy way to work out tonnages
14. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT7ue0twkoo]HOMEMADE HIGH OUTPUT LOG SPLITTER - YouTube[/ame] why not have two rsjs and two rams. gridded plate or series of cutting knifes need high tonnages to work, 30 tons is good for pine but more tonnage for hardwood especially if they are seasoned
15. you dont need to dig a pit. set it on stands above the ground and build a walk way, know a lad who works one this way so the cut wood can roll off the bench to a resaw. Dose it come with a hydraulic log haul?
16. good price at 2500 but a large mill to set up, the bottom wheel sits below the ground. a serious piece of kit built to last forever
17. sell it to a farmer and they can use it as a bottom layer in cattle bedding which is then covered with straw, this acts like a sponge and maintains a dry shed. all the farmers up north love it
18. sounds about right
19. propane bottle forge, just blow in the top with the air line
20. what you will need is a diesel engine to drive hydraulic pumps with a large displacement and high psi/bar. the higher your system pressure, the faster and or stronger your hydraulic rams will operate. to split 24 inch hardwood blocks in one you will need around 80 tons, to get 80 tons of force at 3000 psi you will need a ram at 8.5 inch bore which will have a slow cycle time. with 5000 psi or 350 bar your split is faster as you wont need as large a ram. for a basic layout i think 100hp engine (or an excavator) with horizontal rams pushing logs through a series of hardox knifes companies dont manufacture large firewood equipment because of the huge costs involved.
21. here is our home made job, built for 52 cm x 82 cm nets retail around £6 -£7, wholesale £4.50. works well
22. how much is your budget? this is a good truck
23. yes mate you will do well with firewood. look up the thread 'starting small'. .
24. dont quote me but 3.4m3 for 1000 nets
25. loaded. shoud have seen the wet pine load
