  1. timberjack vs county
  2. as title, heavy duty gearbox, atlas crane/grab, flotation tires, reconditioned engine and the cab has seen better days. what is it worth?
  3. how much?
  4. how do they handle loaders?
  5. i do like your splitters, homemade is definitely the best! i too have a lump of 2foot spruce jammed in the knifes, just not enough power to push
  6. i didnt know there was a 50k version that would be ideal could be tough to find one our mower chewed up a BBQ the local kids built from breeze blocks in the middle of the silage field, i didnt see it. very handy to know it can work a triple set
  7. hi, I could do with a larger tractor for road work, moving timber and skidders/countys etc and Quite fancy a John Deere 7710 with the idea its big enough not to break and plenty of torque from a bigger 8 liter engine. i use older fords that are painfully slow and heavy to use on long shifts. have used 2650 and 6600 deeres and loved them instantly but never been there to see them have problems has anyone had problems with a bigger 10 series or what other tractors are up to the challenge?
  8. would that be farm and forestry? they will know their equipment but i was not impressed by Tajfun and found them under engineered.
  9. there was one in Huntly, Scotland a few years ago, road towable and worked from an operators seat in excellent order. Sold for 14k
  10. bet that comes with a tasty price
  11. just had a look (in terms of cordless drills) at the competition hitachi's flag ship has torque of 92NM and 75min charge on 5ah batts. milwaukee has 82NM couldnt find a charge time and 4ah batts makita has 80NM, 22 min charge on 3ah (usually add 10mins for every +1ah charge time, so prob 30-35min) dewalt has 80NM, 60min charge time , 4ah batts metabo has 100NM, 35min charge, 5.2ah batts bosch, well the older metabo wiped the floor with the bosch so you are probably paying for fancy advertising. i run metabo anyone fancy a duel?
  12. yes it will, all day long.
  13. I will find time to cut it open and do a few mods. the hydraulic ram is 49 tons and not big enough, but was really impressive for 20 seconds before it jammed
  14. love the LDV rear lights!
  15. its a honey comb grid- theoretically brilliant.... and it dosnt work:laugh1:
  16. looks like you need one of these!
  17. I paid £1800 for the mill, 18 bands (three are rusty) sawdust blast 110kva diesel generator 180hp with less than 2000 hours on the clock all wiring and starter/control boxes spare motors Down sides around 90 miles away on the side of a hill (took 5 hours in the tractor each way), the estate wanted the buildings left in a usable state, had to cut the generator out, there was no lorry access, its only 16ft cut, took two folk two very long days so i reckon if you could get it for a tad above scrap value delivered its a good deal. an average stenner prob weighs 4 tons or more with log decks so the scrappy will want £240 per ton plus the motor value, so around £1000 delivered on the basis it requires work would be fair? my thoughts only:001_rolleyes: let us know how you get on anyways, you could get it for less
  18. well almost 15 tons on a good day
  19. Hi all, where is the best place to get a gasket for an A55 Holder? there was oil leaking from the rear of the engine so i guess the seal between the clutch/engine is shot, has anyone had this problem and is it difficult to fix?
  20. hi Marcus, im not the person to ask! mostly all of my milling experience is with yankee mills but someone said its the first inch on the cutting side of the pulley that wears causing the saws problems thats why they have to be re-machined.
  21. hi Mark, you can get all the parts from stenner but at a premium. bearings are easily got from any decent bearing shop. lookout for worn drive cogs/racks on the bench, these can get pricey
  22. what model(s) were they? i heard the early ones were good but after that they were well designed but poorly put together, are the newer ones any better?
  23. Gairloch estate in the west coast they fully reconditioned it and never used it. The mog looks like a non runner but i will ask tomorrow
