  1. I prefer them to BBQs
  2. No gas here Jon. Only logs and mostly from trees I planted. I have to admit to a smidge of wind blown Ash in the pile that wasn't planted by me. I think the Willow is kicking out more than the Ash.
  3. Three fires lit tonight. Sat wearing nothing but a smile and it's still too hot!
  4. I used it yesterday.
  5. Fairy lights I think
  6. The blade on my saw is 54 teeth and 20 degree positive. Is that not aggressive? It doesn't snag or jam. The ebay blade is 64 teeth, doesn't that make it less aggressive? (Teeth don't look more positive angle than mine) Genuine question, I am no expert on the matter.
  7. What's wrong with an aggressive cut on firewood? I would think that was exactly what you wanted. Anyway, Atkinson Walker would be my choice. Atkinson Walker | High quality Industrial Tungsten Carbide Tipped Circular Saw Blades
  8. "I don't like the look of it" is good enough reason. "It harbours too many wood pigeons" is an even better one! I'd say my anecdotal evidence that it harms trees is just as good as your anecdotal evidence that it doesn't.
  9. I think that is true of tractor splitters too. I can work my Oxdale all day without getting stuck, stepson jams it first go. I have used an axe a lot over the years, he hasn't.
  10. Compare Cheap Travel Insurance Cover - MoneySuperMarket Very useful. Somewhere on there will be a link to recommended ones, on the one you choose just look through the lists of what it covers or not and choose one to suit. I always think they are quite cheap.
  11. Simons forecasts are accurate and very informative. I tend to fall asleep halfway through though. (no offense to Simon) I want to know what the hell a "weather bomb" is that everyone is talking about. It is winter, we get winter storms, it is normal not a frigging bomb for goodness sake!
  12. Not a right lot of pogoing going on there.
  13. My missus uses half a packet of firelighters every time she lights the fire. Even then it's 50:50 if it will catch.
  14. No idea Jon, there's no gas here. Logs are the only heating I have, does me nicely too.
  15. Got 3 fires lit here tonight. Nice and warm indoors.
  16. When I first tried to update mine it said there wasn't enough space for the download. I searched on Google and apparently if you use iTunes on your desktop you can download the update to there and then plug into your desktop to do the update on your device. Just thought i would let you in on this secret method that never gets mentioned.
  17. Find my iPhone can be used on a desktop, iPad or iPhone. I expect Find Friends is the same and can be seen/used on a desktop. It can't track you if you have GPS turned off, that's pretty obvious really. Simply put, it is a map with a marker on it showing your current location. Accuracy can vary according to signal coverage etc but is normally very good. If I wanted an accurate system that worked regardless of poor coverage I wouldn't rely on a mobile phone app. If you want a system that your missus can check to see where you are this will work. If you don't want your missus to always know where you are this is a disaster waiting to happen. I wouldn't let my missus use it because she would be constantly quizzing me about where I was going, why did I go there etc etc. Not that she can't trust me, she's just bloody nosy!
  18. You could try downloading the update to your pc and then to your phone using iTunes. Can't believe nobody has mentioned this method.
  19. On an iPhone, yes. I don't have android
  20. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fsp.android.friendlocator&hl=en_GB Available for Android too.
  21. Or use iTunes so you don't need to delete things.
  22. Find Friends or Find my iPhone would do it if both parties agreed to it and you had an iPhone. they are free but do depend on having a signal.
  23. Use iTunes and download the update to your pc, update the iPad from there and you don't need to delete anything. (worked like that on my iPhone anyway) If it is an old iPad then don't update it, the old iOS will work better. Asking these questions on Google is your best bet, always loads of other folk asking similar and easy to find an answer.
  24. I don't get many weekends off and really do like camping, missus ain't so keen though. I also do my best to avoid people/crowds. Unfortunately North Wales fills up with folk that usually live in the towns and cities and it does get relatively crowded. Can't say I blame them either. I am extremely lucky to live off the beaten track so hardly any people other than a few dog walkers, no traffic as it's the end of a no through road. I have dug a lake so can go fishing any time I please although these days I get more pleasure out of throwing bread to the fish. I live in the type of place most weekend campers want to visit. I am not bragging about it, I am just saying that I do realise just how fortunate I am. The A55 on a Sunday eve is a nightmare! So summer weekends are usually spent at home far from the madding crowd.
