  1. Page 14 and for all you know when/if they turned up at the hearing they said sorry, don't blame you for not climbing that day.
  2. I liked that so much I watched it twice.
  3. So what happened at the hearing then?
  4. I have a horizontal and a vertical splitter, horizontal is Hand, vertical is Oxdale. They both split 18" and that is the length I want. I prefer to use the horizontal but that is mostly down to it being 4 way rather than 2 way like the Oxdale. Other than that I don't really see a massive amount of difference and will probably come down to personal preference. One thing I will say is that I can't imagine wanting a horizontal that pushes the blade into the wood, I would only want one that pushes the wood into the blade. ie. blade on end of splitter rather than blade on the ram.

    Rats!

I shot one with a 7.5 shot 28g cartridge a month or so ago. Cut it in half! Rather gruesome as in other post but it wasn't trying to run off.
  6. Love your splitter and what it can do, very much not so keen on the idea of having a separate person to the loader working the levers! There are massive risks of injury there as can be seen from the vid. On one occasion you put your hand back in after it seems you had finished loading and at another point you had your whole arm in there. Please don't take this as having a dig, it is serious concern for your safety! You should make it so you work the levers yourself.
  7. Simon does really accurate forecasts without the sensationalism. Very difficult to say this without sounding bad but I do tend to nod off half way through.
  8. BBC News - Rifle from 1882 found leaning on tree in Nevada park
  9. I called my geese this morning for their breakfast, they came hurtling across the field flapping their wings as always. Not sure if they are getting better at it or the wind got under one of them but I swear it would have cleared the fence if it tried!!
  10. Yes but he does that as well! lol
  11. Fishing on Rainbow Beach, Qld. My lads truck that he built.
  12. As I drove over the Widnes bridge this year I saw more seagulls than I have ever seen in my life, you have no shortage of them! Landfill is where they are at most likely although I have seen plenty while ploughing not far from you. Saw loads in the summer when a local farmer flooded his fields with slurry. I think they are doing OK. Drove up the M6 today, just north of the Thelwall and a flock of peewits was flying alongside. I would guess at 300. Nice to see.
  13. We used 3 gallons of water to keep the flames at bay while we cooked those kebabs! The last pic is when we stopped the water and used the flames to "clean" the griddle plate. It cracked! All logs pictured are leylandii
  14. I push a bit of firelighter down the middle as far as practical, works for me. These things are proper simple and cheap to make that you should just go for it and find out for yourselves. Your kids will love it. (or you will if you don't have kids) I measured the ones i made on the sawbench and the kerf is 6mm compared to 8mm with chainsaw. It will work just fine. Just do an extra cut or two if it doesn't, it's fun to find these things out for yourselves anyway.
  15. I think if you are going to the trouble of making juice rather than just buying squash your diet is probably pretty good anyway. Owning and using a juicer is not likely to make you more likely to get cancer though I do take your point.
  16. Yes I did tick the box, always do. I was a customer anyway, I like the shop and what they sell. Hence the first one costing me full price as posted above. They've got 47kg Calor propane refill at £60.50 at the mo for anyone interested. Best price in my area.
  17. Damn! That was going to be my next guess.
  18. It does, but this was apple juice not cider.
  19. I have made 40,000 bottles of apple juice since September, buggered if I'm having it for breakfast too.
  20. I don't think I have actually burnt any of them yet but I have no reason to think they won't be just fine. The kerf on my blade isn't a lot different to my chainsaw anyway.
  21. I have only ever made them for my own use, really should try some in our farm shop. Logs don't sell at all there though. Usually make them with a chainsaw but made a dozen or so last time I had the sawbench fired up. Loads quicker!
  22. Well the footfall trick didn't work with me because I bought it online.
  23. I use my old HiGear Cargo to hold my tent now, so bought a replacement at these silly low prices. Paid £35 for my first one and thought it was a decent price at that. Used it as my suitcase and it has been around the world, was even my pillow for a while when camping in Australia. I am surprised they are selling them so cheap tbh.
