  1. Make sure you get full height barn doors at the rear, it’s surprising how much more you can get on having them.
  2. I used to have a ranger extra cab tipper it’s surprising what you can get on them. I’m in the process of getting my new hilux extra cab converted but won’t get it back until end of next week.
  3. K&H are good I prefer them to the stihl plastic ones but you’ll struggle to beat the stihl hi lifts
  4. Put them in a metal box or container and hook it up to the mains. Can’t remember which but one electric current you stick too the other will blow you away. I’d chose the last one. Wouldn’t want to find them stuck to it the next day even though you’d get a lot of satisfaction.
  5. I’ve recently got a new hilux and I’m putting bf Goodrich all terrain on hopefully next week. I used to run general grabber at3 on my ranger which where brilliant tyres on and off road but the bfg are a bit more aggressive for off road. With the rain we have had, end of this year I’m thinking of buying a set of modular wheels with mud terrain to swap over.
  6. As said you need professional indemnity insurance for a fact. I’m not sure if you need public liability but I’m certain of the indemnity insurance.
  7. Worth a lot more than £250 to do that. Better off advertising it as free firewood on Facebook but I doubt the average homeowner/log goblin will have a saw big enough to finish cutting it up.
  8. Not tried trust a trader but checkatrade is Ok but it’s getting more expensive. If you do join it will be incredibly slow until you get a decent amount of reviews (which is a job in itself)
  9. Try arborisk they have me a good deal on truck insurance and said the do quads as well. My friend had his quad stolen a few weeks ago and apparently a lot of quad insurance is only third party.
  10. Thanks all, I’ll probably get a new bar then in the near future
  11. I thought it would last longer and did think about it losing more power but then thought I was being silly. Is the power loss really noticeable compared to the sprocket nose then?
  12. I recently purchased a makita ea7900 with a 24 inch bar for the occasional trees my husky 560xp 18 inch can’t handle. I run a mixture of husky and stihl and all my previous saws have a sprocket on the bar. Is there any major disadvantages (if any) with the solid nose compared with the sprocket. Thanks Tony
  13. If you haven’t already sorted it I can put you onto some who is very good.
  14. I think you can still buy them in America but the shipping won’t be cheap and that’s if they will ship it here.
  15. I used to run general grabber at3 on my ranger before I sold it. Brilliant tyre on road and good off road. The side wall are strong brilliant for carrying weight. I’m putting bfg all terrain on my new truck as it seems to be a bit more aggressive for off road. Don’t think you’ll go wrong with either of those
  16. Another vote for the stein very hard wearing. That said I recently bought some cheap ones on amazon for spares and subbys. Although not as nice but for the money you can’t complain. I can find the name of them if you wanted
  17. You have rawstone hire but they are in Sevenoaks. I’ve never hired a chipper of them but have hired a stump grinder and they seemed good.
  18. Wouldn’t go to mad with advertising on Facebook it’s generally full of time wasters. Get a good website built
  19. Just my opinion but unless your truck is covered in rust, you can see daylight through the tipping body and generally looks ready to be scrapped. It won’t earn you any more money than a brand new one, but a new one could be more reliable, comfortable and all round nicer to drive. Some People are funny and when your quoting in a new vehicle and are put off because they think either your going to be expensive. Some people may disagree but I’ve had people not go with others because they had a brand new vehicle because “he’s earning too much”. I can’t see the logic behind it but that’s just people. Reading what I’ve said seems like I’m trying to put you off a new vehicle (I’m not I’ve just got a new truck) but just don’t expect it to earn any more than your old one
  20. A new one for us was helping out a demolition company removing a wooden bridge.
  21. I wonder if anyone could help me, I’ve been asked by a demolition company to help dismantle an old oak bridge. Anyway they have asked for generic chainsaw RAMS and I’m not sure mine will be adequate as mine as they are for tree surgery IE cutting branches fallen trees not oak beams on a bridge. Am I just worrying over nothing and my RAMS will be fine or if I get a jobs worth safety officer will he say these are for tree surgery not demolition. Thanks in advance
  22. Facebook and Instagram sites I just use as a portfolio but as said majority of people who connect to me on Facebook are time wasters
  23. I’d highly recommend Steve to make you a website.
  24. I’m now going to start this, as people seem to think trees and hedging are cheap. In reply to the OP I’d get a budget off your client to save wasted time.
  25. I have a forst st6p and can’t fault it’s chipping performance, it’s an extremely good chipper.
