  1. Ash I'd say
  2. We have a relatively new and largish AD plant 5 mins from here and it's total bollocks. So many farms turning fields to maize or similar, year after year and pumping the slurry from the AD plant back into the ground every year. Not to mention hauling from further than Norwich (25mile+) in fastracs and slower tractors, its not green 1 bit. The impact it has on our food supply is bonkers. Also another one, not sure if its been mentioned on this thread is wind power. I visited the visitor centre at the huge wind farm just outside Glasgow a few years ago and they quite happily tell you how many trees had to be felled to make way for it and how many tons of "special" concrete had to be poured for the turbine bases. How the heck that + the metal which goes into the turbine itself is ever green. Not to mention the actual blades. This article says it really What happens to all the old wind turbines? - BBC News WWW.BBC.COM Wind turbines don't last for ever, and they are difficult to recycle... although as usual the BBC try not make the next crud green muckup not actually seem like a farce... Turbines from the 90's that's at most 30 years old, do they really generate enough electricity 'emissions free' to counteract the carbon used to build and maintain them!??
  3. In a similar category, iPhone may have it built in but an ICE app with partner / next of kin contact details helps emergency services too if the worst happens.
  4. Was more thinking going forward for things like working to tree plans / reports etc. But agree definitely more useful things to learn to be useful on site.
  5. Tree climbers companion is helpful but not mega up to date. Definately worth knowing latin names for trees. A trip to an arboretum will help with that Also take a point of view of trying to think like the business owner, treat all tools like you've paid for them, every customer like your own etc.
  6. Wait for the stub police
  7. I've just witnessed a massive brawl break out in my local petrol station. 17 people arrested in Total.

  9. Was on a previous AT post 01490413517 (havent tried it though) Also here TCF ENGINEERING LTD WWW.BUSINESS-PAGES.CO.UK TCF ENGINEERING LTD
  10. I have the old airstreams, same pair for 5 or so years with plenty life left. Apparently new ones are crud.
  11. Have a search around mate, loads of threads about these in the last few months 👍
  12. I had a similar issue, it would lift it like 1 inch then die, discovered huge holes in the filter and the tank was full of scum. Cleaned that and got replacement filter and replaced oil, and it tipped empty fine. Now it seems to have an issue with one of the bolts which goes from solenoid into the motor, I have no clue about motors but this is what I have narrowed it down too. Its like the bolt doesn't tighten up, therefore not giving proper connection. I'd also be glad of ideas how to fix before having to take to a local engineer!
  13. Poor chap was only trying to spruce the place up.
  14. I had to remove a whole load of bamboo recently which had grown from a neighbouring garden and up to against a kerb. It was over 6 inches thick and even with a 3 tonne excavator it took a lot of force to get it out. On open ground with a good toothed bucket or better a ripper tooth, it should tear out more easily. It doesnt seem to have grown back much, but will treat any regrowth.
  15. Think carefully about what you're -good at -enjoy -will make money doing What I mean by that is most people hate the mundane admin stuff like invoicing, sending quotes, chasing money, accounts work etc etc and therefore it may not be done as well as it could so invest in a decent software system that takes the time element away and ASAP get a virtual assistant or similar to do that work so you spend as much time pulling in the work and making it happen. And think seriously about handling machinery, 1 machine may cost as much as a guy does for a years wages but it will probably work harder than one guy and could mean you can take on bigger jobs with a smaller team and pay less in the long run. Probably some decent finance out there too which helps cash flow. A decent account will definitely go a long way, ours saves us £££ in tax both personal and at a business level.
  16. I'd never go back to a manual. Especially if I was doing the miles it sounds like you do @5 shires Most auto boxes have the option to manually shift too anyway. Only annoying thing with them is if you are off road and bogged down its a lot harder to rock the vehicle with and auto.
  17. Doubt you will kill it but it will sprout and look proper naff for a good few years and probably not produce any fruit for a while. Prune the bottom branch off and most of the other smaller ones remaining and it should resprout in spring. Oh and learn your lesson to not be had by pikeys
  18. @KWarb17?
  19. The 'problem' is it's an old fruit tree - common to see them in this state as Stubby says. just tie it to the wall til it dies.
  20. Chrome on win 10 not working. Working OK on S8 tho
  21. I'm sure that I'm not the only one to read this along with some of your other posts and think you're close to being a pikey.
  22. Surely it is the same with almost every trade / industry, people have a go at fixing their own cars, people have a go at painting their house, some people have a go at electrics / plumbing, some people have a go at brick laying, etc etc. Aint ever going to stop it, and as someone has already said tickets dont mean a fat lot if you dont take your time and risk assess properly.
  23. OK, just what my browser said!
  24. Phew thought it was just me having issues! When I investigated it seemed to be a cache issue when it wouldn't load if that helps?
