  1. Way out of the running here at week 17 2012 (550xp) but only one brake band so far. Regards, Steve.

  3. Mine was all on there Yesterday, just settling down to night two on soils
  4. On Bloom check the 'My Modules' tab at the top left of the page, units 1 and 4 are now there. On Mypage the 'Timetable' and 'My Course' tabs now have something in them, or at least it all did this afternoon. Timetable just shows Group 1 on Friday morning and Group 2 Friday afternoon. I agree the lack of messages/emails is poor, haven't even been invoiced yet... Going to have tea and look at all this later. Hope this helps. Regards, Steve.
  5. I know that and it did make me chuckle that they all thought they'd struck gold however you should see the bowl a local guy turned from it, I was quite surprised. Regards, Steve.
  6. We've taken out some decent size Horse Chestnut (3' dbh) from a woodland, the landowner pays us to fell them (some already windblown) and has no interest in the wood so we can extract at our cost if we choose or leave for habitat. If left though the timber fairies come in and make one hell of a mess
  7. From their website... Working with BWP is a great mix of forward thinking, entrepreneurial creativity and smart business fundamentals. Their account team are switched on and attentive and they have delivered value beyond our expectations. Sean Larter-Conway Marketing Director, STIHL So who's idea was the no online sales clanger?
  8. Friday's sort of gift from a customer - £10 only used once - but I think that was once in 1965 and must have been one hell of a day given the state of the bar and the handguard needed re attaching with a jubilee clip
  9. Many thanks for that. Regards, Steve.
  10. Where's the best place to get these please? As they're stated as factory I'm guessing dealer, but is there an alternative? Reason being I'm looking at running the Sugi 42" bar for milling/ringing and although the saw is great I wonder about the oiler output. Kind regards, Steve.
  11. Can't see you getting much in the 'Atkinson Vos Chipbox'
  12. I'm also a fan of the 19-28 and according to TH White at the AA Show last year it can be supplied as a turntable, ideal for the Lawson. Regards, Steve.
  13. TP200 turntable? 8" and 52/72hp, 1550/1625kg. I'm still contemplating one of these to replace the 150 - http://www.tpwoodchippers.co.uk/pdfs/TP_200_MOBILE_TURNTABLE.pdf Regards, Steve.
  14. Many thanks people, don't have an Iphone so will have a play with making one photo by joining two on the pc. Regards, Steve.
  15. Thanks Guys, Side by side or one above the other as the reduction/ pollard posts here - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Arbtech-Tree-Services/509194529166133#!/pages/Arborwood-Tree-Care/490238494324688?fref=ts Regards, Steve.
  16. Evening Guys and Girls, Would someone be good enough to explain to a Facebook numpty how to place a post on my company's page with a pair of side by side photos with some text? I want to show the usual before and after shots. I can stick a photo on and a description but nothing more advanced. Kind regards, Steve.
  17. Not that bad but did hear a metallic noise disappearing behind me at about 40mph to find this when i stopped.... Noise was obviously the strap as the tank's plastic. What gets me is it was only MOT'd a month ago and they didn't pick up on the state of it
  18. Made me chuckle..... Regards, Steve.
  19. I believe they do a special gas for cold temperatures, more money of course..... Regards, Steve.
  20. Have an IM350 Paslode and can't fault it. Yes it uses gas too but there are cheaper sources of gas available than mainstream dealers (which work fine). Only issue i had was due to gas which had gone off due to age as i hadn't used the gun for a while. Heard great things about the DeWalt from other contractors though who would always pick that up before the Paslode. Regards, Steve.
  21. I concur, that's the trouble with posting late at night whilst under the influence This story originated with the research of G.R. Stephenson. (Stephenson, G. R. (1967). Cultural acquisition of a specific learned response among rhesus monkeys. In: Starek, D., Schneider, R., and Kuhn, H. J. (eds.), Progress in Primatology, Stuttgart: Fischer, pp. 279-288.)
Stephenson (1967) trained adult male and female rhesus monkeys to avoid manipulating an object and then placed individual naïve animals in a cage with a trained individual of the same age and sex and the object in question. In one case, a trained male actually pulled his naïve partner away from the previously punished manipulandum during their period of interaction, whereas the other two trained males exhibited what were described as "threat facial expressions while in a fear posture" when a naïve animal approached the manipulandum. When placed alone in the cage with the novel object, naïve males that had been paired with trained males showed greatly reduced manipulation of the training object in comparison with controls. Unfortunately, training and testing were not carried out using a discrimination procedure so the nature of the transmitted information cannot be determined, but the data are of considerable interest.
His research inspired the story of five monkeys. Some believe the story is true, while others believed it's an exaggerated account of his research. True story or not, his published research with rhesus monkeys, in my opinion, makes the point. Regards, Steve.
  22. Picture 5 monkeys placed in a cage. A new community is formed. From the ceiling of the cage hangs a bunch of bananas. A stepladder is placed under the bananas. As the first eager monkey rushes up the ladder, a firehose knocks him off and hoses down all the monkeys. Shocked, they sit back and regroup. Later another moneky tries, with the same result. It make take repeated attempts by each monkey before they become conditioned to not climb the ladder. At some point, the lesson has been learned by this closed culture and controls how they respond as a community. Then one monkey forgets and steps onto the ladder. But the firehose doesn’t have time to react. The other four monkeys grab the offender and beat him senseless. They’ve learned that in this society, you don’t climb the ladder. Now the process of attrition and replacement in the society begins. One of the original monkeys is removed and a new monkey is added to the group. He spies the bananas and leaps onto the ladder, only to be dragged down and beaten by the rest of the group. After several attempts, the new monkey learns. Another original monkey is replaced with a new monkey. And the same process follows. Then another and another and another. Soon we have a group of five monkeys who’ve never been soaked by the firehose, but won’t climb the ladder. This learned behavior was socialized into the group over time. It no longer matters how many generations of monkeys follow. The new behavior is that a monkey climbing the ladder will be dragged off and beaten. None of the monkeys in the cage has ever been knocked off the ladder with a firehose. None have been soaked down. They don’t know what the consequence is because it’s been replaced by group behavior. They can’t remember being soaked. They don’t know why they do what they do. The accepted norm for this closed community is to beat anyone who tries to climb the ladder. And that is how Company policy is formed P.S. This was an actual experiment.
  23. Can't say i like Barclays, personal or business. Excessive charges and unreasonable with it. Looking to move five accounts shortly and not sure where to go.
  24. Usually yes. It's all about where you are in the first place. If you're on an even keel things like this are water off a duck's back. However if your current state is one of 10 out of 10 on the stress scale then it's the proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back. The key is realising this and dealing accordingly - must revisit the 'Stress' thread. Sorry, just having a bad night.
