  1. Nice one mark !! Any tips at all ? Will the normal pinto be up to the task ?
  2. Having been taught to climb by using a ladder then using two ropes and hitches which is how my boss still climbs I have been wanting to advance more and more and try new things. Anyway got myself a throw line and been practicing as much as I can, what I'm asking is.... say I get a good high shot with my throw line can I haul one of my long ropes over and down, clip a pinto to the eye with my climbing system running through it, haul it up to the top and tie it off round a tree? It's probably a novice question to you lot and I'm prepared to feel silly by asking so be gentle haha! Thanks again guys Lakeyboy

  4. I have one on ebay at the minute for 60 quid
  5. I started off as the boy never used a saw or hedge cutter let alone climbing up a ladder to cut or top a hedge!! I started off on 40 a day cash, took 6 months of watching before my boss let me pick a saw up. He was taught by his father in law and they both teach me, 4 years ago I started from the bottom and now look at me! Good apprentices are out there!!

  10. First post in the woodcraft section guys, I wouldn't consider myself skilled making something useful/nice from wood but while helping my bosses father in law in his yard I found some lovely planks of yew that have been in the shed for 25+ years ! They seem to be in good condition to my eyes, just wondering what I could use them for ? Any suggestions much appreciated

  14. Just out if interest does anyone use the zigzag on blaze? I got hold of 49 meter eye spliced for a good price, wanted a zigzag since the first one came out but blaze is 11mm and the specs say the minimum diameter for the zz 11.5, would it work? And be safe ? Thanks in advance guys
  15. It's not an 051 converted engine (has the manual oil pump) and has a chain brake also, will be sad to see it go but what's the point of it sitting in the shed? I have an 064 if needs be not quite the same but even that is rare to leave the shed haha
  16. May possibly decide to sell my 076, It's had new piston rings not because they were damaged just decided to put fresh ones in, new gaskets and it will need an exhaust. It is fitted with a stihl rollomatic 36" bar and oregon full chisel chain both only used once, any give me a fair idea of the Value ? Thanks in advance Lakeyboy

  20. On a fencing job last year as we were taking town the old fence the neighbours ran out and rushed into the greenhouse with a couple of blankets haha, being a lad with a misspent youth twigged on rather quick haha
  21. Some poor bugger bought the other one and in 20 days when there is no saw they are going to be swearing
  22. Also sorted out a 009 for a friend's customer new fuel line and carb clean, also carb kit fitted to my bosses 200t and fixed the earth wire. Proper productive day
  23. Think I'm finally happy with my new toy, today was spent tearing it down (again) replaced head gasket with high temp silicone, muffler mod done as spud told me how to, I did take a small amount of the casing away to make sure there is no melting and then re-tuned. Haven't put it through any timber yet but pickup is quick and it sounds great !!
