  1. Positioner here also, on some poison ivy
  2. Or you could find yourself the rear handle kit!
  3. Swapped over a fair few old saws to aspen when I saw the benefits of using it, never had one seize?
  4. Also true! The pre x-torq saws have the decomp on the side of the cylinder
  5. Should say x-tourqe on the recoil housing bud
  6. Trees all failing around Norwich, loads of debris across the roads including a branch flying across the road in front of my mates car, waiting on the calls
  7. 18 inch sugi pro on mine I'm happy with it but it is just about its limit, also have a 15 inch bar for it and it's noticeably quicker
  8. 4ft+ lime... biggest I ever did with the dosko and bloody ruined me for the day!
  9. Yep. All jokes aside that is correct, chain should move freely and by lifting chain in the middle of the bar you should just see the bottom of the drive links
  10. Not too tight, not too loose 😜
  11. As has been mentioned, I have a caribiner on the ring of my 201, it clips it up high enough to be out of my way if the orientation of the crab is a problem how about using a beal pinch rubber to keep it in the correct position?
  12. I stayed within the 2mm for the piston skirt, I'm guessing I didn't bevel the port edge well enough, ring snagged and completely wrote off the my genuine cylinder, was a sad day and I did throw my toys out of the pram. And i refuse to ever use a dremel on a cylinder ever again.
  13. Thanks for the reply spud, clean up squish and crown as in remove any carbon deposits? From what I have read.. regardless of how many people have done this mod, I should still double check the squish with the solder through plug hole method?
  14. Evening guys, recently got a 372xpg (pre xt) cosmetically looks a bit rough but starts runs and cuts nice! Reading up on various mods and definitely want to change the muffler a bit, also read that I can drop out the head gasket too? My query is that should i do that would it have any adverse affects with the timing etc? Any other things I could do my self to give it a bit more go? I will not be doing any porting myself after upsetting my 064 a couple of years ago.....
  15. Can't say I've had any issues with mine so far, just followed all the procedures in the book when I first got it and use the starting methods stated. Coughs on second pull and starts on third or fourth every time. I do find it splutters a bit initially? Also been run on aspen 2 since day one
  16. +1 for aspen wouldn't use anything else now
  17. I used a Lyon sling before to give a bit of distance between me and the hitch climber, also had a go with the o rig which enables you to adjust the distance while climbing without the need to unclip a sling
  18. I use an 18 on mine but I think that's about its limit, also have a 15inch bar for it and makes it very zippy
  19. The auto tune will correct its self, lift up the deflector on the top of the muffler and drill or dremela hole next to the existing one. And I can't speak of what gains you get from it as my 550 is still under warranty, just been reading a bit.
  20. +1 for the 550xp! Absolutely love mine! Sent from my SM-G935F using Arbtalk mobile app

  23. Been using stihl since I started, and I finally decided to get a 550xpg this week, turned up Thursday but was dark so I couldn't play! First thing Friday I was out with it and I'm in love! Smooth cutting, rapid acceleration and those warmy handles are the dogs rear wheels! Sent from my SM-G935F using Arbtalk mobile app
  24. That's a familiar old friend........ as you say... time misspent! Was fun though! Sent from my SM-G935F using Arbtalk mobile app
  25. Purists hate ladders, bollocks to that, they're golden on jobs like this, as one lad has already said. As long as you're stropped in you can even cut from them if you know what you're doing. Agreed. Sent from my SM-G935F using Arbtalk mobile app
