  1. Its ok I have 2 one for parts and one with muffler mod for firewood and and most of the bigger stuff
  2. 044 (the old 10mm wrist pin version) with 16 inch bar and full chisel chain on an 8 tooth sprocket, my favourite firewood saw
  3. Hahaha
  4. Broken two small caritools but my first and only large one is still fine
  5. Have had my fair share of snakes and lizards in the past but now just stick to my fish, much less mess and no more dead rats and mice in the freezer haha
  6. Its all good now bud managed to get it dialed in on the carb side of things after speaking to brad snelling, throttle response is good and seems to pull alot better now aswell
  7. I cant help with the whole srt thing, but in regards to your hitch I saw a chap on tinternet was showing how he remebers the similarities between different hitches and how it helps him tie them. Anyway say you tied a knut, you end up with the terminations in front of the rope, he suggested if the hitch doesn't set properly try tucking them from front to back and then attach your carabiner, sorry if I cant explain very well haha
  8. Actually having said that my gunson wont fit as the plug is smaller on the 201
  9. Ill find up my gunson up then, also had another look and it has a 7 tooth sprocket on maybe swap that out for a 6 tooth? Im guessing it will give it a bit more tourqe
  10. Compression seems fine judging by the hanging by the starter method dosent even drop at all and what would it be worth then? I dare say that all it needs it minor fine tuning which if I get my little orange screwdriver out at work I get a bollocking and told to get on with my job .....
  11. Well got stuck into the wood heap with the 201t trying to get as much grunt as I could out of it making bar length cuts and it is just about on par with the oldest 200t we have pulling a 14 inch bar when the 201 had a 12". Just been to see my dealer and he said hes got a t540 I can have on demo, hopefully picking it up tomorrow
  12. Yeh that's the one, I managed to get it to run for about 10 seconds so its left as an ornament in the shed
  13. Maybe ill just give the 201 a bit more time then, its not like it owes me a lot and theres two 200t and my 020t between me, my boss and his father in law so doubt we will run out of spares haha
  14. Clean fuel tank vent mate had the same thing with my 044 and that was the cause in other news I have a danarm dd8f and also a danarm tophandle too
  15. Its an 020t also muff modded and liquid gasket on the cylinder and while its a great saw, it can be temperamental on some days (not idling or stalling after making a long cut) but most of the time its great just never owned a brand new saw which I think is whats tempting me
  16. Thanks for the quick reply, so far I tweaked the 201 by drilling out the h speed screw limiter, muff mod and advanced the timing by shaving a third off the flywheel key (following brad snellings guide on arboristsite) Throttle response was awsome after that but still seemed guttless full bar length (12" ) in some lime this afternoon
  17. After getting this 201t for a silly price used it for the first time today and even with a couple of tweaks I dont think it's fantastic neither did my boss. Im now debating if I should sell the 201 and my 1995 020 which I was given for my birthday (as a fixer upper of course) to pay for a t540? I mean both stihls have to be worth at least £250 a piece. The only thing that worrys me is the amount of people saying that theirs are falling apart, but there are the odd one or two people that say, theirs are fine? What do I do!! Bearing in mind if I do get one it will be the first brand spanking new saw that I will have bought. Hope you guys can give me a bit of advice. Once again thanks in advance Lakeyboy
