  1. Not had that response yet, but don't let it put you off, the world is full of haters but by doing a little act of kindness we can change that. Think Ill make that my mantra.
  2. Good man yerself:thumbup:
  3. Mmnnnn nymphettes:lol: makes me feel good and its often when least expect it.
  4. :thumbup:That's superb. Well done, imagine if we all do a good deed how good would that be. It's a real buzz when you help others when they don't expect it. Hope you enjoyed the ice cream.
  5. This might sound strange to some but does anybody else try to do at least one good deed a day for somebody else. This week I drove past a guy trying to cut a privet hedge in the pouring rain, he was standing on a small metal step, using an electric trimmer run on at least three extension leads all with no circuit braker. I initially drove past but had a spare half hour before next job. So I turned round parked up explained to him that I wasn't a nutter and that I try to do good deed etc. Got the Kombi hedge trimmer out. Job done in 20 minutes. Yesterday young woman standing on litter bin trying to prune dead branches overhanging her hedge with hand secateur. Same again drove past initially then turned around. Explained the good deed bit n for the pole pruner out job done. I've been doing similar for a while and must admit its a joy to help someone out, people are shocked that a stranger would help them but they are so grateful it's great. For me it's not always about making money, rather treating others as you'd like to be treated yourself.

:thumbup:They normally sell them Around feb, they are great. I buy 6 pairs a time and they see me through the year. Wear them every workday and have a spare pair in the van. Also bought some neoprene anglers gloves from Aldi, great if you do a lot of jet washing or gardening in the wet as I do.
  7. No worries man, not here to cause stress to anyone as the world is already too full of the haters. Enjoy what's left of the weekend.
  8. 35 years of site management means I know the difference between an Ash key and a shrivelled distressed Ash Leaf!!! There are a lot of trees that are completely dead, even back three weeks ago it was clear trees where in trouble and yes that was from a speeding train. Mainly because the train slowed down many times on the journey and was close enough to trees along the track side to see branches dying back from the tips with wilted leaves not keys. But then again maybe you know better as I don't claim to be an expert and you clearly seem to be.
  9. Isn't Nilsfix just a blue Stihl anyway?
  10. These trees aren't dead they are just resting! I can assure you these trees are not resting they are deceased, dead, they are no more. Or as Monty Python would have it Mr. Praline: 'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This tree is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-Ash tree They haven't woken up, the wilted leaves are not the hanging keys, these trees are in trouble and they leave a big hole in the wider landscape
  11. Reducing a hedge using the MS 150 with shiny new chain, chain lasted about five minutes before it hit a hidden nail and snapped. Put new chain on five more minute chain 2 done in rusty old bolt concealed in trunk. Put last spare chain on and going well( about 20 mins) and crunch no more chain. Old hedging post with straining wire that must have held rabbit proof fencing but now totally hidden in the hedge. Off to Argos tomorrow to buy a metal detector.
  12. Ok guys our Damson trees have some serious leaf curl going on. Looks like aphids anyone gotta cure. Mrs Mac won't be best pleased if we dot get any jam or gin:lol:n
  13. SIP Tempest TP760/190 190 Bar 6.5hp Petrol Pressure Washer! I have a stihl re128 but this is not dependant on a socket so wonderedif anyone on here has one, used one or has a view?
  14. This is what politicians discussing global warming and sustainable energy would look like
  15. Heard it this morning thought it was clever lyrics and good on em!
  16. If you suffer from the strong pollen emitted from rapeseed oil the way I deal with it is to take a spoonful of rapeseed oil honey. Try it find a local Beekeeper couple of pounds for a jar of local honey worth more than pumping your body with god knows what that's contained in Anti Histosos
  17. Yeah let's hope so!
  18. Was only saying to Mrs Mac on the train how the amount of pioneer species regeneration would have been controlled in the olde days by fire on the embankments.
  19. Eggs our best wishes go with you and your family. live every moment..
  20. Yup all of the above, plenty of trees breaking out, lots with keys hanging down. Then lot of dead standing wood, others looking wilted, others no sign of growth from tips of branches, growth starting much further in towards main branch and trunk. Hopefully you are all right and the trees in question are simply still just resting.
  21. It caught my eye as we travelled a lot of definitely dead trees and many with a serious wilt and brown leaves left hanging from the branches. I've a number of gardens with Ash in and they are just waking up but don't look anything like a great many we passed yesterday. They don't have the wilt.
  22. Definitely a lot of dead stuff. Also as you say a lot only just waking up, but looked like it was struggling. By that if it was a plant in the garden it looked liked it needed a really good watering if you know what I mean.
  23. On train yesterday really noticed just how bad the extent of Ash die back really is. As we travelled from Liverpool to London it really was noticeable with some trees struggling to wake up others totally gone over to the disease.
  24. Back in the day had an old Nissan Prairie and went to gym one afternoon, came out n the rear spare wheel cage was dragging the ground as I drove out. Scroates had cut through cage to nick the spare wheel. Noticed the leisure centre had cameras and so went in to ask if they had any recordings for past few hours. Girl on desk said we haven't because someone got up on the roof and nicked the camera innards.
  25. We are five years in to bee keeping, Mrs Mac has really taken to it done a couple of the modules for her Master Beekeepers and loves it. Ours are on the edge of the garden close to trees. Dappled light is ok as long as the woods aren't damp and the trees don't drip onto the hives too much as they don't like dampness
