  1. Yowch, brings a whole new dimension to man grooming:biggrin:
  2. Speak to the local RSPB, they might be able to offer some pointers or advise on where or who to speak to
  3. No worries, couple of heavily bandaged fingers one cut deep other simply skinned for several layers, raw n sore. Back out today sorting a couple of broken fence panels. Own fault distracted for a sec.
  4. Busy yesterday with flappy disc on grinder, distracted for a second and result re profiled fingers on left hand. What was more annoying was trying to get the blood off the newly painted kitchen walls and ceiling. Wouldn't like to think what damage could be caused with the chainsaw cutters for the angle grinder:thumbdown:
  5. Will, that looks fantastic, I hope you are pleased with how it's turned out. Great gateway advertisement for you, sure it's going to bring in more commissions for you.
  6. Check out Skylands on here they are very reasonable.
  7. Me too, when Mrs Macca is checking the hives and I get home after a full on day gardening and having my own hum, they will often come after me even though I can be at the back of the house well away from the hives. Last time a kamikaze came out of the sun and got me just under the eye, yer Bast##rd
  8. Haha Si That's coz bees are hyper intelligent and wasps and flies are just the thick scallies of the insect world.
  9. You can get up close without them becoming aggressive but they do have a downer if you are wearing black or of you have been working hard and therefore have a work odour.
  10. Good man yerself.
  11. Anything to do with bees and Mrs Macca is hooked. We have been through the same emotions with our bees over the years and we have two happy healthy colonies that have come through from the winter.
  12. Had the rear cage cut for them to take the spare wheel and new tyre. Went to look at the carpark CCTV only to find thieves had stolen the innards from the cameras leaving empty cases.
  13. On channel BBC4 now, worth a watch
  14. Built a big deck last year for a customer, treated it in August( last year) with Liberon deck oil( expensive at £40 for 5 ltr) and its failed badly. The whole deck is covered in splodges where the oil has retracted. Customer now wants the deck staining a darker colour, any tips to neutralise the liberon? Should I hire an industrial sander to try remove the Liberonbefore applying the new stain?
  15. Great job, does it need to be seasoned?
  16. Will.. you have a real and natural talent. This is such a clean, tidy carve and I think it's terrific, thanks for sharing.
  17. Wasn't moaning about just gobsmacked that he can earn that much, I'd have to cut a lot more grass to get nowhere near that kind of day rate:
  18. I watched him do two bungalows in under 10 minutes, he'd blitzed them in no time, yeah it's great n good luck to him.
  19. Man was I gob smacked when the window cleaners told me they are making that much money a day, £10 per house x 40 houses a day. Me working my ass off gardening start to think I need a career change, again.
  20. You can ask for clarification, most will have a procurement officer or a process in which you can ask this type of question.
  21. That sounds like the one. It's not pleasant, got covered in stuff when logs decided to move out on their own:thumbdown:
  22. I was rotating the log pile and came across the same black mould on sycamore. Very fine powder that looks almost like soot, slightest breeze and the spores are up. Moved all the sycamore out into the open to see if kills it off.
  23. I've just started carving and use the above method. For smaller pieces I also mount the ply to an old Lazy Susan, the type you get for outside patio tables and screw that to a log base. You can then turn the piece on the spot.
  24. He probably gets 50/30 at the moment and the other 20% from word of mouth. I did a website through Yola kept if for the year and found didn't need it anymore as most of my work comes through recommendation now. I'm a small one man operation mostly doing garden rescue work more than trees. If I need quality tree work I've made some brilliant contacts through this forum. If your not sure about Yola give me a pm. It's free for a year then you pay a minimal fee for the following year.
  25. You can get a free web site through Yola putting British Business on line. Free for a year and quite straight forward. If your not good on Puter then why not have a Facebook Page, that you can update when you want and it won't cost anything but time. I know a few people that have ditched their web site in favour of the Facebook page. Mainly because they send a ping when it's been updated and people can see what your upto.
